Summary:
The Director, Annual Fund is responsible for the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of annual fund donors (under $5,000) and for helping to build a robust pipeline of major donor prospects. The Director supervises the administration of key revenue-generating annual fund programs and manages a portfolio of current and prospective donors toward deepened philanthropic relationships with the organization.

Essential Functions:
Manage a portfolio of 50-75 prospects through active solicitation, engagement, and stewardship calls and meetings with current and prospective donors.
Engage in donor discovery work to identify qualified major gift donors, obtain new annual donors of $1,000+, and build long-term engagement of annual fund donors.
Maintain a high volume of everyday touchpoints (email, phone calls) to help identify and retain engaged donors.
Collaborate with Manager of Prospect Research to identify, engage and prosperously solicit individuals, with the long-term goal of advancing these donors toward major gift cultivation and solicitation efforts.
Develop strategies and techniques to expand membership and increase contributed revenue.
Work with Membership Managers on the renewal and acquisition of annual fund donors, using direct mail, e-mail, and other strategies.
Coordinate annual fund solicitation of managed prospects with the Philanthropic Engagement team.
Prepare data for Managing Director to ensure accurate revenue forecasts all over the year.
broadly use the Tessitura database to prepare reports and Partner with Membership Managers in preparing lists for solicitation and stewardship.
Gather donor feedback and data and provide strategic direction for benefit fulfillment and stewardship.
Collaborate with Priority Services Coordinators to communicate institutional messaging and provide the training needed to encourage strong relationship building and solicitation.
Ensure all ticket and subscription-located benefits are delivered and accurate in marketing materials and purchase paths.
Other tasks as assigned.

Education/practice:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Five (5) or more years of practice in fundraising or donor relations required
Professional practice with constituent relationship management (CRM) required
Familiarity with performing arts organizations preferred

Excellent writing, speaking and relationship building expertise
Strong time management expertise and the capability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and integrity a must
Strong analytical expertise
Flexibility and patience a must, reflecting a customer-service orientation
capability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fundraising database required; Tessitura practice a plus

Environment, Physical Demands and other conditions:
Office Environment
Must be available to work some nights/weekends for performances and events
Administrative employees work from our Center City office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with the option to work remotely Mondays and Fridays.
