Minimum Position Appropriate qualifications: First consideration to current University of Memphis employees.
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two (2) years of related practice OR
Associate's degree and a minimum of four (4) years of related practice.

Special Conditions: The Gambling Clinic is particularly interested in individuals with a degree in psychology, social work, or a related field, who have at least two years prior work practice assisting others in achieving personal recovery goals related to gambling disorder, substance use disorder, or other addiction-related disorder; this may include practice gained through an instructional internship. A valid, state-issue driver's license

This is a grant-funded position. This appointment is contingent upon the continued availcapability of grant funds and may be terminated at any time without cause or prior written notice. There is no expectation of continued employment beyond the expiration date of the grant. This appointment is made subject to the laws of the State of Tennessee and the policies and requirements of the University of Memphis.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
May need to work/travel beyond normal work schedule

Working Conditions: While performing the tasks of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. · expertise of how to find and the effective use information given by informational databases, clinic staff, and clinic managers
· capability to read, analyze, interpret, and comprehend instructions (whether written or verbal), correspondence, professional journals, and technical procedures
· capability to compose correspondence, document effectively, present information and respond to questions in one-on-one and small group situations with clients, third parties, TGC staff whether in person, on the telephone, or virtually (e.g. Zoom)
· capability to respond effectively to sensitive inquires, complaints, or situations
· capability to collect data, draw valid conclusions, use sound judgment, and problem solve
· capability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with TGC staff and external organizations

tasks & Job responsibilities: Leads supervision, treatment team meetings, and other grant-related activities as required
supervises Peer Recovery Specialists to develop, support, and follow up on clients' individualized treatment plans

tasks & Job responsibilities: Functions as a trusted confidant, function model, and mentor to assigned TGC clients by sharing lived practice with personal recovery from behavioral or substance use disorder and providing feedback on the recovery process as needed
Assists in the facilitation of continuing aftercare support and monitoring of relapse avoidance
Promotes client autonomy and assists clients in seeking achievable goals for self-management in conjunction with and as a compliment to treatment-specific goals the client and their therapist set

tasks & Job responsibilities: Teaches responsible gambling strategies, assists with self-exclusion process, helps clients develop essential living expertise such as organization, time management, and increase financial literacy and financial planning.
Maintains availcapability during working hours to provide telephone assistance and support, handling urgent calls and triaging emergency calls as needed.
Anticipates the needs of clients with appropriate pre-visit planning, including but not limited to helping with intake paperwork and homework assignments

tasks & Job responsibilities: Helps develop and expand recovery support services and lack of gambling-specific treatment options in the local community by identifying gaps in service, developing client-centered educational resources and website content, and assisting in outreach efforts
Assists with community education and gambling-avoidance efforts including but not limited to community talks, trainings, and supporting screening for gambling-related harm.
Engages in continuing program and service evaluation to and corresponding tracking and evaluation of activities to ensure optimization of evidence-located service delivery
Participates in research programs as needed
