Position Summary:: The Senior Sales Manager Group/Transient position acts as the liaison for corporate group sales and transient business. Responsible for maintaining existing business, soliciting new business, and market analysis to maximize revenues. This individual solicits through traditional and non-traditional sales techniques. Most important tasks include generating revenue, establishing new accounts, identifying competitor set strengths, developing strategies to best capture available market share, monitoring transient production and pricing, booking meeting/event space, maintaining repeat business, conducting sales presentations, sales calls, site tours, all while keeping quality consistently high. Contracts and closes group/transient business. Verifies business is turned over properly and in a timely fashion for quality service delivery. Achieves revenue goals by actively up-selling each business opportunity to maximize revenue. Provides period reporting to analyze market booking patterns and trends. Drive customer loyalty by excellence all over each customer practice.

tasks and Job responsibilities::
   » Achieving or exceeding individual and sales goals
   » Responding to group/meeting leads while drilling to capture LNR (negotiated rate) opportunities.
   » Trend marketing to entice and promote location for corporate meetings, receptions, dinners, trainings, retreats, overnight rooms, etc.
   » Prospecting, identifying and securing all corporate business including meetings, trainings, retreats, receptions, LNR and all other aspects of the corporate market. Actively solicits new business through phone calls, letters, and site tours in order to secure contracts and ensure guest satisfaction.
   » Participates in Professional Membership Organizations to meet new prospects and remain updated with industry information and trends.
   » Inputs data to generate contracts, update client files, and enter information into booking software.
   » Generate updates on transient segment each period to continually analyze transient booking patterns for trends, future need periods and obstacles to achieving goals.
   » Training and empowering sales team members to exercise good judgment to make profitable business decisions
   » Ensuring that the property is maximizing the use of all Villanova University and local programs (e.g. CVB's, PAMPI, Networking memberships)
   » Perform additional tasks and assist with special projects as assigned
Minimum Appropriate qualifications:: Formal suitable education
   » High school diploma or equivalent required.
Specific Job expertise:
   » capability in strategic planning, staff development, marketing, budgeting and analytics to drive measurable results and focus resources on work that will excel revenue growth. Minimum Work practice:
   » 3-5 years of combined sales, leadership abilities, and development practice. Work expertise:
   » capability to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Reporting tools.
   » expertise and capability to lgain technology platforms including PMS, POS, TBD booking software, etc. Equipment expertise:
   » PC, General AV
