Job Summary Oregon State University Cascades is seeking a Chief Business agent. This is a full-time 1.00 FTE, 12-month, professional faculty position.

The Chief Business agent (CBO) at Oregon State University-Cascades has a critical function in steering the institution towards prosperous execution of the academic mission of the campus. The CBO will be a member of the senior leadership abilities of the campus and work with the Chancellor and Dean and senior academic leaders on developing a strategic and financially sound business plan for delivering academic priorities. The function requires aligning operational and financial strategies with the university's growth objectives; assessing and managing risks; and developing strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and alliances to deliver on the academic mission. This position involves making strategic decisions that not only align with OSU's overall objectives for the campus but also guide the campus's sustaincapability strategies.

The CBO will have operational oversight of all business operations of the campus, working closely with senior leaders in finance and operations, and will be the point-of-contact for major functions led from the Corvallis campus such as human resources and information technology. The CBO will be responsible for cultivating a culture of adaptcapability, trust, flexibility, and openness to change in the business and operations staff.

The ideal Chief Business agent will have a more broad skill set and practices than just finance or operations. The prosperous CBO will possess strong financial expertise alongside leadership abilities practice that ranges from strategic planning to financial strategy to day-to-day operations. They should exhibit flexibility, integrity, and ethics in their decision-making processes and have a solid interdepartmental perspective that enables effective collaboration across functions. Their strategic thinking, project planning, negotiation, and communication expertise are essential for developing and executing business plans that align with the academic strategy.
OSU-Cascades, in Bend, Oregon, is a branch campus of Oregon State University. Established in 2001, the university currently enrolls more than 1,300 students in bachelor's and master's degree programs. The campus expanded to a four-year university in 2015 and opened its new campus in 2016. The campus master plan involves remediating 118 acres of a construction landfill and abandoned pumice mine to build a campus that will support 3,000 to 5,000 students. OSU-

What You Will Need
   » A minimum of five years in progressively responsible leadership abilities functions in a complex organization with practice in strategic planning, budget and financial planning, and oversight or collaboration with diverse organizational operations.
   » A bachelor's degree in a significant discipline or work practice providing equivalent depth of expertise in a significant sector.
   » practice managing operations with federal and/or state compliance and legal requirements.
   » Evidence of a collaborative, team-oriented, results-oriented, and evidence-located leadership abilities style.
   » A demonstrated capability to provide management oversight, leadership abilities, and strategic direction to diverse operational units.
   » Demonstrated capability to recruit, retain, and compensate high quality staff.
   » Demonstrated commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
   » Strong interpersonal expertise: capability to foster collaboration and trust and to cultivate a culture of adaptcapability, trust, flexibility, and openness to change in the business and operations staff.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must prosperously complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
