Position Summary This recruitment is for a pooled position and will be used to fill multiple part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) undergraduate lab adjunct positions for the School of Chemical, Biological, and Environmental Engineering (CBEE) at Oregon State University (OSU). These positions are located on lab group needs, and vary from 3-20 hours per week depending on the work load and assignment.

Position tasks 100%: tasks to be determined by hiring unit/manager and may include book reviews and publication research, experimentation in a laboratory setting, laboratory set-up and maintenance, data collection and analysis, and other related tasks.
Other tasks are performed specific to the funding and research topic. tasks may include, but are not limited to:
   » Work in a chemical laboratory performing chemical reactions, chemical analyses, instrument operation, general cleanup tasks, chemical purchasing, report and publication writing and presentations to various audiences depending on the project.
   » Computer modeling
   » Work with hazardous chemicals and/or materials as needed, depending on the project.
   » Prepare samples for testing.
   » Manage data and experiment analysis.
   » Use all manner of common lab equipment, such as microscopes, scales, measurement devices, testing machines, power saws, and data collection systems to address project goals.

   » Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
   » Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
   » Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
   » High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
   » Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
   » Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
   » Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
   » Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered ?full-time? by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

Additional Required Qualifications · Attention to detail and expertise of general lab procedures.
· Must be enrolled in a high school, community college, or university;
· Must be engaged in academic coursework and activities that are directed at obtaining a degree (as opposed to coursework taken for personal interest or enrichment); and
· Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standards below to be considered by the educational institution she/he is attending as a diploma or degree-seeking student:
· Must meet Satisfactory Academic Standing Requirements. Students who meet Satisfactory Academic Standing Requirements must have a term and cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above.

Preferred (Special) Qualifications · Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Bioengineering major with a Chemistry background
· Strong written and oral communication expertise.
· Desire to be involved in hands-on research.
· A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
