Organizational Unit Overview The College is the largest provider of allied health professionals for the state of North Carolina with departments in Addictions and Rehabilitation Studies, Clinical Laboratory Science, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Health Services and Information Management, Nutrition Science, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Physician adjunct Studies. The college offers seven bachelor's, seven master's, three clinical doctorates, two research doctorates, and seven postbaccalaureate certificate programs.

The College offers four clinics: a speech/ hearing clinic, a physical therapy clinic, a substance abuse, clinical and career counseling clinic, and a pro-bono interprofessional student-run clinic. There is a growing externally funded research base, including several service and research community engagement projects. The College is housed in a state-of-the-art building on the Health Sciences Campus with 127,000 square feet of dedicated space. The College's mission is ?to improve the quality of health through leadership abilities, excellence, and innovation in the delivery of progressive baccalaureate, master's, doctoral, and continuing education programs, providing professional and clinical services and conducting basic, clinical, and applied research.?

East Carolina University is in Greenville, North Carolina. Greenville is the cultural, educational, medical, and economic center of Eastern North Carolina. The Greenville/Pitt County area has a population of approximately 175,000 and is one hour from the Research Triangle to the west and the Crystal Coast to the east. East Carolina University (~27,000 students) is part of a vibrant healthcare community including ECU Health Medical Center, a level 1 trauma center, and 1400+ bed health system serving more than 1.4 million people in 29 eastern North Carolina counties. The ECU College of Allied Health Sciences has strong working relationships with the ECU College of Nursing, School of Dental Medicine, Brody School of Medicine, College of Health and Human Performance, and College of Engineering and Technology. ECU is home to both Army and Air Force ROTC programs and is in proximity to Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marine, and Navy bases. The College is near Laupus Health Sciences Library, College of Nursing, Brody School of Medicine, School of Dental Medicine, and ECU Health Medical Center.

Job tasks The College of Allied Health Sciences at East Carolina University is seeking candidates for a full-time 12-month position as a director of alumni affairs to serve as a key contact for the College of Allied Health Sciences and its alumni, students, and leadership abilities. The Director of Alumni Affairs is responsible for strategic planning and designing programs and projects to engage alumni of the College of Allied Health Sciences. The Director will work in partnership with the leadership abilities of the college to develop active and engaged alumni. The Director will work in partnership with leadership abilities at the College and as a liaison to the ECU Alumni Association. Serving as an ambassador for the College, the Director of Alumni Affairs will provide professional skills and work closely with college alumni and current students, as well as in collaboration with colleagues in other administrative capacities including the CAHS Dean and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, the Health Foundation, Communications and Marketing, and Student Affairs. The Director will play a key function in engaging college alumni, building strong professional relationships, and promoting the priorities of our students, faculty, and college leadership abilities.

Minimum Education/practice Master's degree required, or a Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, Community Relations, Communications, or a related field with at least two (2) years of professional administrative practice in alumni affairs or a related discipline.

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation None

Preferred practice, Skills, Training/Education practice building and leading a comprehensive alumni program including event and program development, recruiting and working with volunteer boards, budget management and staff supervision, and partnering with leadership abilities, alumni, students, and faculty in allied health disciplines.
