We are also a teaching institution that is renowned for academic excellence. As an R2 university we make a significant investment in faculty research by providing support related to travel, technology, research databases, and development. We are one of the largest universities in North Carolina with almost 30,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Our main campus is in uptown Greenville, which is a rapidly expanding city and the predominant health, entertainment, financial, and educational hub of the eastern North Carolina region. In addition, many of our students come from rural communities with their own set of challenges and perspectives.

The College of Business (COB) has been AACSB accredited for over 40 years. We offer BSBA, MBA, and MSA degrees and our School of Hospitality Management offers both a BS in Hospitality Management and an MS in Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality. Additionally, the Miller School of Entrepreneurship offers a BS in Entrepreneurship. We are one of the largest Colleges of Business in the state with approximately 4,200 undergraduate and 900 graduate students. To date, the COB has approximately 150 faculty members of the highest caliber, skilled in the scholarship of research, teaching, and application of expertise. A strategic goal of the college is to create an environment where the faculty, staff, and students can thrive and be personally and professionally respected.

The Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management within the College of Business is a large, vibrant community of teachers and scholars. The department has over 1,000 undergraduate majors and over 20 faculty members and offers courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The department seeks to attract faculty of the highest caliber skilled in the scholarship of research, teaching and application of expertise.

Job tasks The Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management, in the College of Business at East Carolina University, invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track position in the area of Marketing at the adjunct professor rank beginning August 2025. The position will have instructional responsibilities in the department teaching courses in the marketing discipline, which can include strategy, marketing communication, global marketing, digital marketing or other marketing classes, as needed. Specialties in other areas of Marketing may be considered. A standard teaching load is nine semester hours. A continuous stream of quality research is required for tenure, as is an effort at obtaining external funding. Service to the university, community, and profession is expected, as well as any additional tasks assigned by the department chair.

Contingent upon availcapability of funds

Minimum Education/practice This appointment requires a PhD in the teaching field or related discipline from an accredited business school that satisfies credentialing under SACS guidelines. The candidate must possess the qualifications necessary to be designated a professionally qualified faculty member in conformity with AACSB standards. Candidates with PhD conferred at the time of initial appointment will hold the probationary rank of adjunct Professor. ABD candidates will be considered. ABD candidates will be appointed with the probationary term rank of adjunct Professor and must have the terminal degree conferred prior to the first reappointment.

Preferred practice, expertise, Training/Education Preferred practice includes excellence in teaching marketing courses and scholarly publications in top marketing journals.
