JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Chief TV Engineer and Technology, Senior TV Engineer (Maintenance), performs a varietyof complex and specialized tasks of a television broadcast RF transmitters and systems involving the implementation,
troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of broadcast systems, software, equipment, and related systems atMilwaukee PBS Television stations. Performs tasks as ?Engineer in Charge? on station and remote productions.
Work is varied using established procedures requiring judgment and the making of decisions including supervisionand delegation to other specialists. Supervision received is general in nature while works independently referring
unusual situations to the manager for decision or advice.

CHARACTERISTICS, tasks, RESPONSIBILITIES

? RF Broadcasting: Installs, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs TV broadcast RF transmitter systems,networks, automation systems, storage systems, servers, digital asset management, traffic systems, digitalvideo and audio, editing and encoding systems, and other connected equipment, systems, and software.
Performs maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of core television broadcast RF transmittersystems, tower site management, and satellite uplink maintenance.
? Software Management and Administration: Manages and maintains editing workstations, servers, digitallibrary archives, editing software and all related production software to support Milwaukee PBS programming.
Writes/modifies/troubleshoots/implements software solutions for television broadcast equipment andsystems.
? Digital Platform Management and Administration: Performs technical implementation of internetvideo/audio/data distribution including streaming, webcasting, podcasting, datacasting, and other new mediadistribution platforms.
? Support and Training: Maintains technical standards for audio and video and RF systems all over thestation. Provides technical support to equipment and system users and supervises training of staff. Implementsworkflows, provides facility documentation, and collaborates with Television and Video Production instructorsto assist in learning opportunities and recommends RF systems equipment for classes and labs.
? Collaborative Teamwork: Establishes, maintains, and enhances positive work relationships with internalteams, including producers, writers, videographers, editors, etc.
? Ethics and Confidentiality: Practices honesty by demonstrating a consistent and uncompromising adherenceto strong moral and ethical principles, values, truthfulness and accuracy in all actions.
? Continuous Learning Professional Development: Maintains current expertise of best practices andstandards in industry trends and technological advancements of technologies, procedures, and softwarerelative to television broadcast, Non-linear editing and RF equipment systems installation, maintenance, andrepair to implement best practices to enhance quality and efficiency. Actively organizes and/or participates inapplicable workgroups, trainings, workshops, seminars, committees and professional associations orconferences to promote continuous learning.
? Other tasks: Performs other related tasks within the scope of the position as required for the efficientoperation of the division and to support station objectives.

? Working expertise of the integration of broadcast maintenance with broadcast digital video, audio, equipment, andsystems, principles, techniques, and maintenance in a broadcast television station environment.
? practice with appropriate programming languages and scripting as related to television broadcast Information technology as well as withAuto-Cad/Vid-Cad or similar systems documentation software preferred.
? expertise of network transmission methods and network communication protocols.
? capability to execute system administrative and management tasks for both physical and virtual systems.

? expertise in the following areas: VDI, Microsoft OS Servers, Active Directory, management networkinfrastructure, data storage, and backup systems.
? expertise of broadcast television station engineering and production workflow and support, includingprofessional industry edit systems. expertise of FCC and broadcast technical standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Compliance with all state, federal, and accreditation standards/requirement, as well as all MATC policies andprocedures.
Required suitable education practice: Associate's degree in television broadcast RF transmitters, TV engineering, or relatedfield and five (5) years of progressively responsible work practice in television broadcast IT/TV engineering functions;
or other equivalent combination of practice and training that provides the necessary expertise, expertise, and abilities.

Preferred Education practice: Bachelor's degree in television broadcast RF transmitters, TV engineering, or relatedfield and prefer seven (7) or more years of progressively responsible work practice in television broadcast IT/TV
engineering functions; or other equivalent combination of practice and training that provides the necessaryexpertise, expertise, and abilities.
Required Licensure/Certification: None
Preferred Licensure/Certification: Appropriate SBE (Society of Broadcast Engineers) certifications and/or RF transmittercertifications
