CO- is seeking candidates for a full-time Junior Designer position. Our firm practices Architecture, Urban Design, and Real Estate Development, aiming to balance design excellence with project practiccapability. We are currently engaged in projects such as new construction multi-family housing and rehabilitation projects in California.
this function is ideal for an early career architectural designer with prior professional practice. We are seeking for candidates who demonstrate a strong capability to work as part of a team to push the boundaries of creativity, develop innovative and attractive design options, and move projects toward realization. candidates should have a degree in architecture or a related design field. Given our involvement in both the design and development phases, a general knowledge of the real estate development process, a basic grasp of project financial goals, and a curiosity to lgain more are highly valued.
Junior Designers at CO- work within a design team to advance and deliver projects. Their responsibilities include developing design iterations and concepts, conducting site analysis and design research, creating 3D and physical models, producing visualizations and documentation, and coordinating material options.
Candidates must be fluent in written and spoken English, with additional language abilities considered a plus. Authorization to work in the United States is required. this function is located in San Francisco and will initially be in person, with the possibility for increased workplace flexibility as the candidate grows into the function.
Preferred Qualifications
   » A professional degree in architecture
   » 2+ years of practice working on design in a professional setting, having seen projects through multiple phases
   » Very strong design sensibility
   » Highly organized, detail-oriented, and accountable
   » The capability to visualize clearly and compellingly in 2D and 3D with Adobe, Rhino, and various rendering engines
   » Strong physical modeling expertise
   » capability to structure their own work process and work independently while incorporating team feedback
   » Strong verbal and written communication abilities
   » Familiarity with project documentation and Revit
   » capability to design for multiple scales and timelines
   » Knowledge of real estate finance and development and construction processes
   » A working capability in Microsoft Excel
   » Strong familiarity with the California Building Code
   » Licensed or near-licensed
   » Curiosity to lgain about new expertise and the capacity to acquire them
