Job tasks This is a part time temporary opportunity from June 1, 2024 - August 15, 2024.

Primary Purpose of the Position:
The U.S. Department of Education (DOE) released new Title IX Regulations (Title IX Regulations), and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) issued new ?Enforcement Guidance on Harassment in the Workplace? (Workplace Harassment Guidance) and the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act Rule (PWFA Rule). The new Title IX Regulations, Workplace Harassment Guidance, and PWFA Rule were all issued in April 2024, and ECU is required to comply with each of these.

The primary purpose of this position is to: develop a compliance checklist of requirements to comply with the new Title IX Regulations, Workplace Harassment Guidance, and PWFA Rule (?new guidance?); complete the compliance checklists to document ECU's compliance with the new guidance and identify any related gaps and inconsistencies; provide recommendations to comply with the new guidance; and provide a report of recommendations for best practices with respect to the new guidance. The responsibilities are outlined in greater detail below.

Job responsibilities:
Title IX Regulations Compliance 40%
1.
Develop written compliance checklist(s) for assessing ECU's policies, regulations, procedures, processes/practices, training, and website to ensure and document compliance with the new Title IX Regulations; outlining our comprehensive institutional requirements and responsibilities under the new regulations
2. Complete compliance checklist(s) through a review of ECU policies, regulations, procedures, processes/practices, training, and website in the ECU Policy Handbook, ECU website, and other significant documents and online sources to evaluate and document ECU's compliance with the new Title IX Regulations and all related supplementary information provided by the DOE as well as identify any related gaps and inconsistencies in ECU's compliance
3. Provide recommendations to ECU about recommended additions, deletions, and revisions to ECU policies, regulations, procedures, processes/practices, training, and the website to comply with the new Title IX Regulations located on review of current policies, regulations, procedures, processes/practices, training, and website
4. Provide written report of recommendations for Title IX compliance best practices for students, faculty, and staff located on compliance practices and emerging trends in higher education and other suggestions for improvement to comply with the new Title IX Regulations

Workplace Harassment Guidance and PWFA Rule 40%
1.

Significant New Requirements 20%
Provide written report outlining significant new requirements added or clarified in the new Workplace Harassment Guidance, PWFA Rule, and Title IX Regulations.

This position is contingent upon available funding.

Minimum Education/practice 1. Masters, J.D., or Advanced Degree; or Bachelor's degree with significant education and practice. All degrees should be from appropriately accredited institutions.
2. Evidence of excellent written and oral communication, and human relations/interpersonal expertise.
