Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill three (3) part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Student Outreach adjunct position at Oregon State University (OSU).

Undergraduate Research Ambassadors are current students who seek to help raise consciousness of and encourage involvement in undergraduate research or creative work at Oregon State University. Student work schedules are flexible each term, but a minimum of 5 hours per week are required (15 hours maximum).

Position tasks Ambassadors perform some or all of the following tasks:
   » Attend recruitment events and meet with prospective students to answer questions about undergraduate research opportunities, representing the Office of URSA and the university favorably
   » Support communications and marketing efforts such as digital signage, information handouts, social media posts, etc.
   » Interacting with students via newsletter, Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms
   » Collaborate on PowerPoints and assignments to support undergraduate research topics
   » Hold 1-on-1 appointments and advising hours with prospective and current students
   » General office tasks such as data processing, report creation, emails, organizing, etc.

   » Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
   » Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
   » Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
   » High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
   » Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
   » Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
   » Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
   » Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered ?full-time? by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

Additional Required Qualifications
   » Must have conducted at least 30 hours of undergraduate research or other scholarly work with a faculty mentor by the time of application
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
   » Bilingual/Multilingual or practice with bilingual/multilingual students, employees, or co-workers
   » practice in customer service or working with students
   » Familiar with or practice using technology systems such as Microsoft Office products, Google Suite, etc.
   » Public speaking and social media practice
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
   » Typical office and campus environment with remote and/or in-person work
   » Program ambassadors should be available each term during the academic year
   » There may be some evening/weekend events. The frequency/number of events per term vary and range from 1-6. The event schedule will be finalized at least one week prior to the event
   » The office may be open during term breaks. If Information technology is, program adjuncts have the opportunity to work more hours during the break
