Delaware County Community CollegeDelaware County Community College (DCCC), located outside of the Philadelphia Metro area, is seeking a talented and dynamicDirector of Major Givingto join our team of higher education professionals who are committed to student success.The Director of Major Giving will report to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement (VPIA) to develop, implement, and maintain fundraising strategies related to acquiring major gifts to support the community college's mission. This position will operate strategically and collaborate with the VPIA and the Director of Annual Giving to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward DCCC's major donors and prospects ($10,000+). This position has external contact with donors, prospective donors, institutional funders, volunteers, organizational partners, and key stakeholders. This position has access to sensitive DCCC information and is expected to handle such information with integrity and professionalism. This position has regular contact with the community and is expected to always represent DCCC professionally. Essential Functions Ensurecontinuingdiscoveryandresearchof newmajor, principal,andplanned givingprospects. prosperouslydesignandexecutesignificantengagementprogramsfordonorsand prospects, coordinating with colleagues all over the College as needed. SupporttheVPIAinmanagingnewmajorandprincipalgiftprospectsandrelationshipsth atcould advance the college's mission and work. Manage a portfolio of current and prospective donors at the major level of giving capacity, including individualandinstitutionalsources,movingthemthroughthestagesofcultivation,s olicitation,and stewardship. In partnership with the VPIA and the Director of Annual Giving, spearhead theBuilding CommunityCampaign stewardship program for major and principal campaign donors, including developing unique and exclusive events supporting theBuilding CommunityCampaign. In partnership with the Director of Annual Giving, plan and execute all Advancement special events all overtheyear,includingtheannualGolfClassic,theannualScholarshipstewardshipev ent,and other cultivation and stewardship events as needed. PreparetheVPIA,President,and/orotherkeyleadersfordonormeetings,includingpre paring and distributing research briefs, strategy overviews, goal setting, and capturing and recording post-meeting contact reports. WorkwiththeCommunicationsteamonleveragingdonorrecognitionopportunities,incl udingthe Annual Report, Ignite Magazine, special events, and speeches at events. Collaborate with the Communications team to ensure good representation of institutional advancement in marketing publications and activities. Other tasks as assigned. The prosperous candidate must be an engaging, effective, innovative, dynamic leader and team member who is strategic and fosters collaboration. This individual will be able to demonstrate the use of best practice strategies connected with all aspect of giving and fundraising. This individual will demonstrate a spirit of an independent problem-solver and a strong knowledge of the College's mission and goals. The Director will also have a demonstrated capability to encourage, model, embrace, and incorporate diverse thought and perspective of all individuals of various backgrounds, ideas, and perspectives to foster an all-inclusive environment and drive results. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of five (5) years of practice in development and fundraising. Demonstrated practice in independently closing gifts at the five-figure level is required. Preferred qualifications include practice at a higher education institution, familiarity with basic planned giving vehicles and estate planning discussions, practice in grant writing and reporting, and knowledge of Greater Philadelphia's philanthropic market. Candidates should have practice in multi-faceted appeal campaign planning, implementation, special events, and management. practice with Raiser's Edge or a comparable CRM is strongly preferred. A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field of study; or equivalent practice required. Master's Degree is preferred. Certified Fundraising Executive certification or Advanced Certified Fundraising Executive certification preferred.
