Primary Job responsibilities: » Coordinate with outside counsel on various IP matters involving copyrights, patents, trademarks, and trade secrets » Advise and counsel employees in the product development teams regarding legal compliance and risk management » Advise and counsel employees on various marketing-related matters, including name-logo-slogan approval, waivers, contest language, website copy and disclaimers, etc. » Draft, negotiate, interpret, and advise employees on IP-related agreements (license agreements, joint development agreements, invention disclosures, etc.) » Negotiate, interpret, and advise employees on IP provisions in commercial agreements, such as manufacturing, SaaS, and supply agreements » Work with outside counsel to evaluate inventions to determine patentcapability and draft, file, and prosecute patent applications before the USPTO and foreign counterparts » Work with the significant stakeholders to develop and write policies such as open source policy, AI policy, etc. expertise & Appropriate qualifications: » Juris Doctor degree » Requires membership in a State Bar as an attorney qualified to practice law in the State and must remain in good standing with the State Bar including being current on any applicable Continuing Legal Education requirements » Must have 5+ years of practice as an IP attorney, including practice with counseling clients on business aspects of IP matters, with in-house practice highly preferred » capability to operate with significant independence -capability to interact with people at all levels of the organization and interface effectively with leadership abilities, internal business partners, and external partners, such as outside counsel » capability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced work environment with strict deadlines » Adaptable to growth and changes in the organization, function, and systems » Excellent organizational expertise and attention to detail » Strong time management expertise » Outstanding written and verbal communication expertise, with the capability to articulate legal strategies and courses of action » Exceptional presentation and negotiating expertise » capability to execute complex tasks and to prioritize multiple projects Apply online at: https://www.equipmentshare.com/careers/openings/5856108/intellectual-proper ty-counsel-at-columbia-mo-corporate?requestId=7886a3c2-318f-4873-8468-abd2cd 92608d%3AAPAb7ITXiQMWFKLr9HwsX8n309VJcwaABA%3D%3D Additional Info Employer Type: Large Corporation Job Job location: Columbia, MO (remote possible) Skills:
