Interns will contribute to the production of the corporate annual report, organize digital brand assets, and enhance visual content through photo editing and color correction. With a focus on building expertise in media relations, branding, and graphic design. This position provides valuable practice in both creative production and project management, ideal for students pursuing degrees in graphic design, visual arts, or related fields.Candidates must be an active college student or a recent graduate (within the past year). PRIMARY Job responsibilities: »Create Engaging Marketing Materials: Design eye-catching print and digital content like postcards, brochures, web banners, and social media graphics to promote WETA programming and film premieres. »Contribute to Corporate Reporting: Assist in crafting and producing our comprehensive corporate annual report, showcasing WETA's achievements and initiatives »Manage Digital Brand Assets: Organize and maintain our broad library of digital assets, including logos and photography, ensuring easy access and consistency »Enhance Visual Content: Edit and color correct photographs to maintain high-quality visual standards for all marketing and branding materials. Preferred Major: » Graphic Design » Visual Arts » Fine Arts with focus on Digital Media or Graphic Design Learning Objectives(Whatwill the intern lgain through the internship): »Media Relations and Branding: Gain hands-on practice working with a dynamic public relations team, learning the intricacies of media relations, event promotions, and branding strategies. »Graphic Design and Digital Media Production: Develop and hone expertise in designing print and digital marketing materials, including postcards, brochures, web banners, and social media graphics, using Adobe Creative Suite. »Corporate Communication and Reporting: Participate in the development and production of a corporate annual report, gaining insights into corporate communication and reporting processes. »Client Interaction and Project Management: Lgain to organize and manage digital brand assets, assist in creating corporate brand guidelines, and gain practice presenting work to clients, enhancing communication and project management expertise. Desired Competencies: »Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: Strong command of Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign for creating impactful marketing materials. »Fundamentals of Graphic Design: knowledge of typography, layout, color theory, and print production techniques to produce visually compelling content. »Effective Communication: capability to communicate clearly and concisely, collaborate within a team, and confidently present work. »Organizational expertise: Highly organized with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting various deadlines efficiently. »Interest in Media and Non-Profit: Knowledge or passion for television and film production, public media, or non-profit organizations, demonstrating alignment with WETA's mission and values. »Animation and Video Editing expertise: While not required, proficiency in animation and video editing is a bonus, enhancing the versatility of the intern's skill set. LOCATION WETA and NewsHour Productions are Washington, DC established media and news organizations. We are a largely local workforce located out of the Campbell Place office in Arlington, VA. WETA and NewsHour Productions value employee flexibility when possible. Most positions located in our Arlington, VA office will be onsite or hybrid, depending upon the function.
