Position Summary:: Villanova University, a top national ranked university as recognized by US News & World Report, is hiring an adjunct Director to join the Office of Undergraduate Admission. The adjunct Director will represent the University at select on and off-campus events (e.g. high school visits, college fairs, Nova Nation Presentations, case studies, panels, etc.) for recruitment and yield purposes in a designated territory*. In addition, this person will serve as a resource to campus visitors, such as students, parents, school counselors, alumni, etc. regarding the application process. This person is responsible for organizing, implementing, and managing Villanova's recruitment efforts and yield activities, and work with alumni volunteers from their respective region. This individual will also holistically read and assess applications assigned for admission review. Extreme confidentiality and discretion are required regarding recruit and applicant information. This individual will also assist with other tasks as assigned by senior leadership abilities in the Office of Undergraduate Admission.
In addition, this individual will also serve as an integral team member relating to initiatives that are aligned with the University's Strategic Plan and designated by the leadership abilities of the Office of Undergraduate Admission. Information technology is expected that this individual will also participate in on and off campus recruitment, yield events, retreats, committee review work, etc.

tasks and Job responsibilities::
   » Coordinate up to eight to ten weeks of travel annually for the purpose of recruitment and yield in a designated geographic territory, which may include overnight travel. Will also develop a recruitment and yield plan for that region, which includes identifying feeder and potential feeder schools in the area and taking steps to significantly increase the University's commitment in this region. Will be responsible for making all travel arrangements, including airline and hotel reservations, rental cars, etc. Represent Villanova University at college fairs, high schools, forums/panels and communicate with prospective students and their families on an individual basis. Maintain and adhere to a budget provided for the recruitment activities in the region. Detailed expense records must be maintained and reports provided.
   » Other job programmatic responsibilities may include assisting other staff members with their responsibilities and to be determined subsequently. Such responsibilities may include on-campus events, communications, scholarship, social media, technology/Slate, etc.
   » Holistically review, assesses, and be accountable for all applications from the designated region; serve on admission committees to make sure all decisions are fair and equitable as possible. Will also help with reading applications from other regions as assigned.
   » Conduct yield activities for admitted students from the designated region, including receptions and general communication. Perform other tasks and tasks relating to the recruitment and enrollment of prospective and admitted students, including but not limited to serving on various committees all over the year that enhance the development and continuous improvement of University initiatives.
   » Actively assist with Nova Nation Presentations, yield events, and serve as Counselor of the Day (COD), which involves meetings and answering questions with visiting students, families, and school counselors regarding the admission process, scholarships, financial aid, etc.
   » This individual will also serve as an integral team member relating to initiatives that are aligned with the University's Strategic Plan. Placement in appropriate teams will be determined located on the individual's practices and the needs of the Office of Undergraduate Admission. Perform other tasks and tasks as assigned relating to the recruitment of prospective students and the yield of admitted students.
   » Maintain membership and representation within the various regional admission counselor association(s) for networking and professional development. Attendance of at least one annual conference to benefit the University is strongly encouraged.
Minimum Appropriate qualifications::
   » A Bachelor's degree is required, along with two to three years of demonstrated achievement or competency in a professional administrative and/or counseling practice in a university/college admission office or comparable practice or advanced education in a related field.
   » Strong written and oral communication expertise, along with capability to demonstrate confidentiality and discretion are a must.
   » General knowledge of the workings of an admission office and the responsibilities related to information processing and data entry are valuable.
   » Knowledgeable of basic office and technological equipment, Slate/Technolutions and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, etc.), are required
   » Must be available for weekend travel and work evening hours located on admission cycle and a have a valid driver's license.
Preferred Appropriate qualifications::
   » A Master's degree is preferred along with an in-depth knowledge of the college admission process with the practice of at least five full admission cycles (recruitment, application review, selection, and yield phases). In addition, strong written and oral communication expertise are required.
   » The individual must be extremely organized, manage the budget allocation for recruitment and special programming, and be able to work as part of a team both in the office and in the wider campus community.
   » In addition to basic knowledge of office equipment, Information technology is strongly preferred that the individual have practice with the following technologies: SLATE, Banner, Concur, etc. to review applications, track inquiries, run reports, manage travel expenses, etc.
   » Finally, the individual must be able to work independently, and be able to simultaneously perform multiple tasks while working under extremely stressful situations with mandated deadlines.
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours: :
   » broad travel (including overnight trips), plus weekend and evening hours are required.
   » Tools, machinery, and equipment used: Office equipment (cell phone, laptop, etc.)
   » Environmental conditions (any unusual/adverse conditions such as exposure to chemicals, noise, illuminations, air quality, weather exposure, etc.) N/A
   » Physical requirements (items such as lifting, pushing, pulling, standing, or sitting for extended periods of time, manual dexterity, walking, etc.): May need to stand for up to three hours at a time at college fairs; will need to lift boxes of college materials approximately 15 lbs.), etc.
