SUMMARY
Museum Technology manager works under the guidance of the Exhibitions Technical Director and is responsible for leading a team of technology specialists in updating and retrofitting of technological components within interactive exhibits. this function involves utilizing a diverse range of tools and technologies to diagnose and resolve malfunctions in exhibits, ensuring their seamless operation.
QUALIFICATIONS
   » Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
   » Demonstrated leadership abilities abilities, with a track record of motivating and directing creative teams
   » Minimum of 1-2 years of professional practice in developing video games, theme parkattractions, special effects technology, software-to-hardware interface applications, robotics, or acombination of significant practice and training.
   » Previous practice with network infrastructure and wireless applications.
   » Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, Unity, MAX/MSP, UnrealEngine, or various versions of C/C++, with the capability to lgain new languages as required.
   » capability to rewrite code for exhibits to update hardware technology and integrate with newsystems.
   » Familiarity with multiple operating systems, including current versions of MS Windows, Mac OS,and Linux.
   » practice with CAD software for mechanical design (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
   » Strong expertise of actuators, control systems, and sensors, including capacitive, ultrasonic, andphotovoltaic.
   » Hands-on practice in rapid prototyping techniques such as 3D printing, machining, laser-cutting,and CNC lathe.
   » Excellent interpersonal expertise with the capability to interact effectively with all levels of museum staff.
   » Demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
   » capability to work at high elevations utilizing lifts and fall safety equipment.
   » Proficiency in oral and written communication.
   » Flexibility to work a schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
   » availability to occasionally travel to other venues for exhibit installations.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
   » Supervise a team of Museum Technology Specialists in diagnosing, documenting, updating, andretrofitting technological components within interactive exhibits.
   » Provide technical guidance and leadership abilities to team members fostering a positive, collaborative, and innovative work environment, prioritize collective workflow goals to ensure efficient use ofresources and timely completion of deliverables.
   » Collaborate with the Exhibitions Technical Director to develop and implement strategies formaintaining exhibit functionality and develop preventative maintenance schedules to ensure thecontinuing performance and relicapability of interactive exhibits, adopting strategies for long termsustaincapability and scalcapability.
   » supervise the design development, installation, testing, and evaluation of exhibit technologies toensure functionality, uscapability, and strong visitor engagement.
   » Diagnose and resolve malfunctions in exhibits using a variety of tools and technologies.
   » Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of technological componentswith exhibit designs while enhancing interactivity and maximizing visitor practice.
   » Collaborate with Operations and Exhibit Development to evaluate needs for updating or modifyingexhibits in the future, utilizing principles of iterative design and continuous improvementprocesses.
   » Develop and maintain documentation related to exhibit technology, including but not limited to:code repositories, technical specifications, and maintenance procedures.
   » Train museum staff on the operation and maintenance of exhibit technology as needed.
   » Stay current with advancements in technology significant to museum exhibits and recommendupdates or improvements as appropriate.
   » supervise exhibit installations at other venues as required, ensuring that technology componentsare properly integrated and functioning.
   » Provide regular reports to the Exhibitions Technical Director on the status of exhibit technologyprojects and any issues encountered.
   » Perform other tasks as assigned applying your versatile expertiseet to meet the evolving needs of themuseum.
