Geospatial analytics driven by CyberGIS and GeoAI has been playing a critical function in covering complex spatiotemporal problems facing our society. Driven by the current wave of AI and data science, how to efficaciously apply geospatial analytics within specific domains such as transportation, urban studies, coupled human and natural systems, public health, or engineering is of urgent needs. The post-doc will aid in developing an approach or framework that integrates CyberGIS and GeoAI for the resolution of challenges connected with the study of complex geospatial systems.

Minimum practice/Education
   » The Postdoctoral appointee must have recently (within the last eight years) been awarded a Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate (e.g., Sc.D., M.D.)
   » Ph.D. in Geography, Geographic Information Science, Data Science or Computer Science
   » Training in CyberGIS, GeoAI, geospatial data science, and GIS programming
   » Research interest in GeoAI and Geospatial Data Science, CyberGIS
   » Excellent written and oral communication expertise

Departmental Preferred practice, expertise, Training/suitable education
tasks and Responsibilities
   » The post-doc will work with Dr. Wenwu Tang on a series of geospatially related research projects or tasks in Center for Applied Geographic Information Science
   » Assist in geospatial data analytics and modeling for complex spatial or spatiotemporal problem solve
   » Assist in paper writing, report writing, proposal development and related collaborations
   » Assist in CAGIS' operations such as seminar series organization, project meeting organization, web site maintenance and update
   » If desired, the candidate will have an opportunity to teach a portion of Dr. Wenwu Tang's courses.
