Job Summary Oregon State University - Cascades, in Bend, Oregon invites applications for an Executive Director for the Central Oregon Innovation Hub . This is a full-time 1.00 FTE, 12-month, professional faculty position.

The person in this position works at OSU-Cascades, located in Bend, Oregon. The Hub is jointly supported by OSU-Cascades, the state, and regional partners.

The Central Oregon Innovation Hub (COIH) will become a resource for innovators and entrepreneurs in the region of Central Oregon and will be known nationally for its collaborative innovation culture. The coordinated system of support will nurture entrepreneurs' abilities to create innovative, traded sector businesses that generate novel solutions to identified problems and opportunities for the residents of its equitable, sustainable, and thriving communities. Three core objectives serve as a framework for success:

Cultivate : Foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship and build an ecosystem that supports innovators, entrepreneurs, and traded sector companies, with an emphasis on broader participation among underserved communities in the innovation ecosystem

Connect : Connect existing elements of the ecosystem, reduce duplication, and ensure that innovators and entrepreneurs across the region can ind what they need.

Coordinate : Take a high-level view to identify and attend to the gaps in the innovation ecosystem, track progress and success, and identify new opportunities to grow innovative businesses. This will include coordination with the development of OSU-Cascades' Innovation District.

The Executive Director is responsible for the launch of the COIH including identifying the Steering Committee and Working Groups, develop Declarations of Cooperation with hub partners, work with state partners on a shared data/CRM system, and identify essential activities to promote connectivity and networking, access to capital, technical assistance for collaboration, coordinated education and mentoring, talent development, and cultivate and communicate innovation impact. The Hub will promote equitable, regional access to resources for innovation to all Central Oregonians.

OSU-Cascades, located in Bend, Oregon, is a branch campus of Oregon State University. The campus currently enrolls more than 1,300 students in bachelor's and graduate degree programs. The branch campus has ambitious enrollment goals to reach 2,200 students and is engaged in building a culturally diverse and community-centric campus.

What You Will Need
   » Master's or equivalent degree in science, engineering, business, law or related ield, or bachelors degree in an appropriate ield and signiicant significant of professional practice, or broad professional practice in innovation and traded sector startups.
   » Demonstrated capability to cultivate industry and community partners and supporting business innovation and development.
   » Demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
   » Demonstrated capability to work with a wide variety of people, including faculty, students, industry representatives, administrative staff, and colleagues.
   » This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must prosperously complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
What We Would Like You to Have
   » Five or more years of practice managing an incubator, business accelerator, venture capital fund, research institute, or ?labs? division.
   » practice developing business plans and commercialization strategies for complex projects involving patents, software, copyrights, and/or trademarks.
   » Executive level practice in sales, marketing, and operations.
   » Executive practice in a minimum of two startup companies, including raising rounds of venture capital.
