Job Opportunity: Reporter - Northern Delaware:Delaware Public Media (91.1 WDDE-FM/88.1 WMHS)Job description: Reporter - Northern Delaware Listing description Delaware Public Media is seeking a Reporter to join our award-winning team providing statewide coverage of the First State as Delaware's source for NPR News. We're looking for a motivated and creative person to produce everyday news stories and features for our nationally recognized weekly news magazine. This reporter will be located in Wilmington/Newark, with coverage responsibilities in Northern Delaware (New Castle County/Wilmington) as well as other stories and issues of statewide interest. Responsibilities include: » Research, write, produce and/or edit stories for all day parts and weekend, as well as web. » Research, write, produce and/or edit long-form features for weekly news magazine. » Conduct live and taped interviews » Occasionally produce and anchor newscasts » Operate studio audio board during newscasts and other programming Qualifications include: » 4-year college degree or equivalent work practice to BA degree major in journalism, mass communications or other related field. » Minimum 1-year on-air practice. » Minimum 2 years' practice in a professional newsroom. » Background in long form public radio reporting preferred, but not required.
