Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time student adjunct position (a maximum of 20 hours per week during academic terms and a maximum of 40 hours per week during academic breaks) at the Extension 4-H Youth Development Office at Oregon State University (OSU). This position is located in Corvallis.

This position has a range of responsibilities depending on the expertise of the student and the needs of the 4?H staff. This is position will provide support to 4-H staff before, during and after the Oregon State Fair. Work will occur at the Oregon 4-H Office on Campus in Corvallis and at the Oregon State Fairgrounds in Salem.

Position tasks tasks to include but not limited to:
   » Assist with set up of ShoWorks fair data management systems prior to fair. Generate and distribute reports and exhibit tags to counties via email.
   » Assist with exhibit building clean up and prepare for exhibit take in day before fair opens to public.
   » Participate as part of the State Fair data entry team. Ensure that all departments have all necessary paper and electronic reports.
   » Review state fairbook and update signage, binders, bins, and other documents as appropriate.
   » Set up or assist with set up for judging and contest as needed. This may include moving equipment, tables, and chairs.
   » Provide assistance to volunteers, judges, 4-H staff and members as needed.
   » Assist by opening or closing the building each day - ensure the building and exhibits are well maintained. Remove, repair, and return exhibits to display as needed.
   » Keep the building clean by removing trash and debris as necessary. Keep exhibits safe by completing periodic walk-throughs of the exhibit building to ensure that all exhibits remain in their places.
   » Greeting the public and answering questions.
   » Provide office support such as filing coping, etc.
   » Inventory ribbons and supplies; Provide a detailed inventory list to leadership abilities.
   » Purchase supplies and equipment as requested.
   » Assist with exhibit building take down, entry pick up, and exhibit building clean up.
   » Complete other tasks as assigned.

   » Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
   » Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
   » Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
   » High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
   » Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
   » Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
   » Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
   » Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered ?full-time? by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

   » Demonstrated proficiency with record keeping and data management.
   » capability to complete data entry with a high level of accuracy and precision.
   » capability to proactively communicate with others and as part of a team.
   » Must have the capability to transport (carry, push and/or pull) up to 35 lbs of materials.
