Position Summary:: Dr. Weissinger is seeking a Research adjunct (RA) to work on multiple research projects. The first is an evaluation of the Philadelphia Alliance for Child Trauma Services (PACTS III) program in Philadelphia, PA. The second is a study of nurse practitioner practices with suicide avoidance in their practice. These studies consist of surveys as well as quantitative and qualitative interviews with youth with trauma practices, parents/guardians, and healthcare providers.

tasks and Job responsibilities:: Responsibilities include working with children, youth, families, and healthcare providers for recruitment, screening, consent, enrollment, scheduling, and follow-up; in-person and virtual data collection; preparation of study materials (e.g., scripts for data collection, community presentations); attendance and presentations at related team meetings (e.g., research team meetings, meetings with and presentations to staff at participating research sites); and other tasks as assigned. The total hours available will range from 6 to 10 hours each week. In person data collection requires travel to multiple sites all over Philadelphia. The RA must have a car or access to public transportation for these study visits.

Minimum Appropriate qualifications:: Formal Education
   » Bachelor's degree in nursing, public health, psychology or related field or two years of significant practice (in addition to the practice listed below) in lieu of degree

Work practice
   » Prior research practice with diverse children, youth and/or families
Work expertise (e.g., written and verbal communication expertise)
   » Excellent written and verbal communication expertise
   » capability to work well independently as well as part of a team
   » Must maintain absolute privacy and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive data (e.g., substance use, trauma history)
   » capability to respond calmly to urgent and /or emergency situations
Specific Job expertise (e.g., expertise of principles and procedures related to field and area)
   » Working expertise of social and behavioral research principles and procedures
   » Equipment expertise

Other:
   » RAs who work from a location off of campus must have a laptop, mobile device, WiFi access and private location (e.g., no roommates or others present) for virtual data collection which will be done by Zoom or phone. Research office space is available on campus for those who do not have Wifi or a private work location.
   » RAs are responsible for transportation to/from the Philadelphia behavioral health treatment programs for in person study activities.
   » Available workdays are Monday through Saturday, with days/times subject to the study participants' availcapability and RA's schedule. Typical available work hours are between 9a and 8p.
Preferred Appropriate qualifications:: Work practice
   » Work as a research adjunct on a prior community-engaged research project related to behavioral health
   » Engagement with diverse Philadelphia youth aged 3 to 21 and their families

Work expertise (e.g., written and verbal communication expertise)
   » Detail-oriented
   » Excellent time management and organizational expertise and the capability to manage multiple tasks with varied deadlines and frequent interruptions
   » Quick-learning expertise to work in a fast-paced environment
Specific Job expertise (e.g., expertise of principles and procedures related to field and area)
   » expertise of principles and procedures for dealing with children and youth with emotional and/or behavioral health concerns
   » expertise of procedures for participant screening and consent
   » Proficiency in research software programs (e.g., REDCap, SPSS).
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours: : Data collection could involve sitting for one or more hours on the computer; however, the RA can schedule breaks and/or move as needed.
