Job Summary/Basic Function: About this function:
The Instructor of Management Information Systems will be responsible for teaching a variety of courses within the department, conducting research in significant fields, and contributing to the academic mission of the institution through service. The ideal candidate will demonstrate skills in MIS, research excellence, and a commitment to student success.

What You'll Do - Position Job responsibilities:
   » Teaching
   » Teach software-intensive MIS courses, both on-campus and online, across BBA,
MBA, and MS in MIS programs.
   » Courses include Business Intelligence, E-Commerce, Systems Analysis and
Design, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity Management, and Python
Programming.
   » A strong interest in teaching SAP-enabled MIS courses is essential.
   » Research
   » Conduct and publish research in ABDC-ranked journals and present findings at
regional and national conferences.
   » Maintain a research agenda aligned with the department's goals.
   » Service
   » Actively participate in departmental, college, and university committees.
   » Contribute to student organizations, academic advising, and other service-
related activities.

Key Competencies:
   » Knowledge of Management Information Systems (MIS):
   » Deep knowledge of MIS concepts, theories, and principles.
   » Proficiency in areas such as database management, systems analysis, business intelligence, and information technology.
   » Teaching Special Skills:
   » capability to effectively convey complex MIS concepts to undergraduate and graduate students.
   » Skill in developing course materials, syllabi, and assessments.
   » Proficiency in employing various teaching methods, including lectures, discussions, case studies, and hands-on exercises.
   » Research Special Skills:
   » Conduct and publish high-quality research in journals listed in the ABDC (Australian Business Deans Council) journal ranking.
   » Attend regional and national Information Systems conferences.
   » Publish in regional and national conference proceedings.
   » Technical Special Skills:
   » Proficiency in significant programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R) and software tools commonly used in MIS research and practice.
   » Familiarity with database management systems (DBMS), enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and other MIS technologies.
   » Communication Special Skills:
   » Excellent oral and written communication skills for effectively presenting ideas, concepts, and research findings.
   » leadership abilities and Teamwork:
   » capability to work collaboratively within academic departments and interdisciplinary teams.
   » leadership abilities skills in guiding student organizations, research groups, or academic committees.
   » Capacity to contribute to departmental initiatives, curriculum development, and accreditation processes.

   » Commitment to continuing professional development through scholarly activities, conferences, workshops, and continuing education.
Physical Requirements:
   » Able to lift 25 pounds and be able to execute a variety of physical tasks including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, stair climbing, and walking between buildings.

   » The position may require occasional evening or weekend commitments for meetings or special events.

Minimum Qualifications (Education & practice):
   » Ph.D. in Information Systems or a related field from an AACSB-accredited institution.
   » Interest and capability to teach SAP-enabled courses, with SAP TS/410 certification (or availability to obtain within a year).
   » Prior teaching practice.
   » Evidence of research excellence through quality publications.
   » practice or capcapability in teaching a broad range of MIS courses, including Business Intelligence, Systems Analysis and Design, AI, Cybersecurity Management, and Python Programming.
Preferred Qualifications (Education & practice):
   » SAP TS/410 Certification.
   » Teaching practice in higher education settings.
