Minimum Position Appropriate qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and ten (10) years of advancement practice in higher education including senior level management practice, resource development, strategic planning, public relations/communications. Must have at least 7 (seven) years of Advancement management and strategic planning or related practice.

Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Special Conditions:
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Will require work beyond normal schedule including weekends, nights, some holidays, and some travel.

Additional Position Information: People, purpose, and production will guide this advancement leader. The Vice President for Engagement/Director Alumni Association fuels production by embracing a growth culture that engages all constituents in a value-focused relationship with the University of Memphis. Provides strategic leadership abilities and mentorship to their assigned unit(s) and collaborates across all areas of Advancement and the University of Memphis. Builds and leads results-focused teams with a leadership abilities style that encourages confidence and promotes an entrepreneurial and innovative spirit among the team and stakeholders. Provides the strategic direction and plans for engagement between the University of Memphis and its alumni, friends, constituents, and the community. Leads and creates strategies and programs that drive personal connection, affinity, and investment in the University, pursuing, always, an exceptional alumni practice. Responsible for growing the pipeline of engaged alumni, friends, constituents, and organizations, to gain investment and enhance the mission of the University of Memphis. The nature of this function is highly externally focused, requiring broad travel and meetings on and off campus during regular and non-traditional business hours including to traveling to train advancement staff, and engage alumni and friends to solicit support. The function is expected to operate with high levels of autonomy.

tasks & Job responsibilities: Works with the Advancement leadership abilities to create and execute programming that will prosperously engage and connect the targeted constituent base to the institution through Club, Chapter, or related practices. Provides strategic leadership abilities and direction to advancement units to drive increased affinity, loyalty, and investment in the University. Leads the creation of a data analytics, data science, and market segmentation program to produce predictive personas, think-alike clusters, and target markets. Raises and deploys philanthropic support by direct engagement with individuals, organizations, and specified target markets and groups. Implements, promotes, and evolves the organization's engagement, qualification, pipeline growth, and retention methodology.

tasks & Job responsibilities: Effectively leads change initiatives through data, culture, strategy development, and structural enhancements. Builds, supports, and maintains a high-functioning team aligned with the organization's budget and growth plans. Partners to invest in and engage the team. Attracts, retains, and develops talent in partnership with Advancement leadership abilities through diversified and personalized plans and strategies. Serves as a mentor and function model for all staff, exemplifying the Division's mission, vision, values, and commitment to inclusion and stewardship.

tasks & Job responsibilities: Serves as a member of the Division's senior leadership abilities team. Serves as Chief Engagement agent and Chief Operating agent of the University of Memphis Alumni Association. Works closely with divisional leadership abilities, University partners, and volunteer (alumni club, chapter, etc.) leadership abilities to maximize and optimize advancement opportunities. Travel related to advancement needs.
