The department's research strengths include bioenergetics, cardiovascular pathophysiology, peripheral vascular function, sensorimotor neurobiology, cancer, skeletal muscle biology, and urological function. Applications are invited for an expanded search for fixed-term faculty positions at the Research adjunct Professor, and Research Associate Professor rank in the Department of Physiology, Brody School of Medicine, East Carolina University. Job tasks The East Carolina Diabetes and Obesity Institute (ECDOI, https://ecdoi.ecu.edu/ ) and the Department of Physiology, Brody School of Medicine ( https://physiology.ecu.edu/ ) are recruiting candidates for the position of fixed-term, 12-month Research adjunct Professor, Research Associate Professor. Primary tasks will be managing everyday operations for the shared laboratory and supporting ECDOI. This will include superviseing the evaluation/purchase, instruction, scheduling, and troubleshooting/maintenance of core equipment; providing laboratory technical support for research projects for faculty/students/staff in ECDOI; providing instruction for new laboratory personnel as needed by faculty within the ECDOI; responsible for oversight and safety of 25,000 sq ft shared laboratory, and additional tasks as assigned by the Director of ECDOI. Contingent upon the availcapability of funds Minimum Education/practice » PhD in Physiology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Exercise Physiology/Kinesiology, or related degree. » practice conducting experiments using a variety of molecular, biochemical, and/or physiological laboratory techniques. » practice mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. » practice with specialized analytical laboratory instrumentation, data processing, statistical analysis, and instrument maintenance. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation None Preferred practice, Skills, Training/Education Preference will be given to candidates whose research skills is in one of the following areas: cardiovascular, neuroscience, cell biology or metabolism.
