Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred, minimum of associate degree with course work emphasis in industrial technologies; supplemented by minimum three (3) to five (5) years previous practice and/or training that includes industrial systems; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and practice.

Data Utilization :Requires the capability to coordinate, manage, and/or correlate data. Includes exercising judgement in determining time, place and/or sequence of operations, referencing data analyses to determine necessity for revision of organizational components, and in the formulation of operational strategy.

Human Interaction :Requires the capability to function in a managery/managerial capacity.

Equipment, Machinery, Tools, and Materials Utilization :Requires the capability to overhaul, restore, renovate, construct, and/or rebuild equipment, machinery, or objects, requiring adherence to prescribed standards and specifications.

Verbal Aptitude :Requires the capability to utilize a wide variety of reference, descriptive, and/or advisory data and information.

Mathematical Aptitude :Requires the capability to execute moderately complex algebraic and geometric operations.

Functional Reasoning :Requires the capability to apply principles of influence systems, such as motivation, incentive, and leadership abilities, and to exercise independent judgement to apply facts and principles for developing approaches and techniques to resolve problems.

Position Description

Under general direction, the purpose of the position is to execute managery and instructional work for the Industrial Systems Technology program. Position is responsible for conducting class development, class scheduling, equipment operations, records maintenance, and supplies and equipment purchasing. tasks include staffing and development for the program. Performs related work as directed. Reports to Department Chair of Industrial and Engineering Technology.
Supervises the development and implementation of classroom instruction.
Performs various administrative and records maintenance tasks; research course materials; prepares lesson plans, course syllabi, handouts, tests, etc.; gathers resources for class; conducts critiques of students' work; grades assignments; maintains files; prepares and/or completes various reports and forms related to classes including end-of-semester reports, grade reports, rolls, etc. Prepares coursework to be available in Moodle.
Attends professional organization meetings; represents program in industrial meetings.
Research and make recommendation to department chair for purchase of new equipment.
Responsible for the development of new courses; research new technology used in updating and developing courses; supervises the selection and review of textbooks.
Develops and coordinates program marketing strategies.
Develops and administers student testing; conducts student advisement; prepares program class scheduling; evaluates student transcripts.
supervises the purchasing and stocking of laboratory supplies.
Supervise the installation of shop laboratory equipment and computer laboratory equipment and software.
Conducts instruction and experiments for shop laboratory.
Manages and schedules hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and machine shop laboratories.
Repairs and maintains industrial trainers, machines, and computer laboratory equipment.
Types administrative and instructional documents.
Administers Moodle coursework.
Turns in administrative reports in timely manner.
Attends internal faculty meetings.
Supplies advice to other employees about machining and maintenance processes and procedures.
Performs minor building maintenance.
Performs related tasks as directed.
