Join the Monterey Wine Company and gain invaluable practice working with state-of-the-art technology alongside a highly skilled research and development team. We are seeking for dedicated individuals who are passionate about the winemaking process and eager to contribute to our innovative environment.

tasks and Job responsibilities:
Monitor primary fermentation by performing everyday Brix and temperature readings.
Collect and analyze samples as requested, including chemical tests such as TA, pH, free and total SO2, alcohol, nitrogen, potassium, and enzymatic testing.
Record results accurately on data sheets.
Execute yeast and nutrient additions as directed by the winemaker.
Adhere to safety procedures at all times.
Participate in all aspects of wine and packaging quality control when needed.
Maintain accurate records of packaging quality control, including:
Cork height measurements
Proper application of capsules or screw caps
Correctly positioned and straight labels
Neat and accurate case taping and labeling
Proper palletization and wrapping of cases
Verify case counts at the end of each day and for each bottling run.
Conduct laboratory analysis for bottling QC, including alcohol, free SO2, CO2, dissolved oxygen, fill height, and vacuum checks, as well as other tasks assigned by the Lab Manager.
Assist in the preparation and shipment of samples as required.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager, including pond sampling, cleaning, and special projects.

Appropriate qualifications:
Previous laboratory practice preferred; a college degree in a scientific field is a plus.
Strong organizational expertise to efficiently manage and organize a large number of samples for analysis and testing.
Enthusiastic about overtime and willing to work extended hours during peak seasons.
capability to follow written SOPs and verbal instructions in English.
Must be able to lift 40-50 lbs.
High level of mathematical proficiency to accurately transcribe numerical results from worksheets to computer-located forms.
