Position Summary Information

Job Summary/Basic Function: About this function:
This position supports the recruiting team in the coordination of hiring activities, including screening resumes, scheduling interviews, completing offer letters, performing background checks, and maintaining candidate databases to help ensure a smooth transition of new hires to the Lamar University.

What You'll Do - Position Responsibilities
   » Assists recruiters with candidate sourcing, executing seamless and efficient virtual and on-site interview schedules, and creating a positive practice for candidates and hiring teams.
   » Gather necessary information and create accurate and comprehensive offer letters.
   » Monitors the progress of tasks from the offer letter submitted to the employee start date. Ensures all information is received and completes candidate background checks. Partners to ensure pre-hire tasks are assigned to new hires and completed in a timely manner.
   » Answering inbound calls and routes questions from candidates and hiring teams. Escalates issues that may impact a positive candidate and new hire practice.
   » Compiles information and maintains reports to summarize progress on recruiting metrics.
   » Supports recruitment team in creating job postings.
   » Performs research to expand the pipeline to source candidates. Assist with networking events, outreach campaigns, and marketing strategies to attract, assess, and close top talent.
   » Adheres to department protocols to ensure hiring practices follow state, federal, and university regulations.

Physical Requirements:
   » Using mouse and keyboard for audio editing and programming computer automation system. Typing documents and reports, writing memos and copy. capability to lift 10-20 lbs. The work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risks.
