Mandatory Position This position is designated as ?mandatory' and, when contacted to report to work, its incumbent is expected to reach the campus as expeditiously as possible using normal precautions as dictated by the adverse weather conditions. Primary Purpose of Position This is a Facility Maintenance Technician (Mechanical Trades). The position is considered to be a contributing technician in the Electrical trade area. Additionally, this position is expected to be able to execute all general maintenance work at the contributing level. This position may also be allowed to execute/lgain another trade discipline either at the contributing or journey level. Tasks may include maintenance, repair, placement, fabrication, installation, alteration, construction, and design of facility components in assigned zones. Minimum Education/practice Required Minimum Appropriate qualifications: Graduation from high school or equivalent. practice in the trade(s) areas related to the position's function may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. Essential Job tasks Entry-level Electrician to undertake a variety of tasks relating to setting up and maintaining electrical infrastructure. Your job can involve installing electrical wiring in buildings and poles, bending, cutting, and threading various types of conduits, and troubleshooting malfunctions under supervision or instruction. Other Work Responsibilities 1. Perform routine preventive maintenance and repair of standard electrical equipment. 2. Work with supervision or instruction, and is expected to complete work with a high level of competence and professionalism in compliance with generally accepted trade practices. 3. Assist during inclement weather with clearing and cleaning of streets, sidewalks, steps, building entrances, and other areas of obstruction of snow/debris, ice, water etc, as a Mandatory Employee. 4. Perform other tasks as assigned and/or delegated to support all operations. 5.
