Yes Job Summary The College of Education invites applications for a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, fixed-term adjunct/Associate, Full Professor (Clinical) position. Appointment at the adjunct Professor rank is anticipated; however, higher rank may be considered depending upon the qualifications of the prosperous candidate. This position will provide program coordination/leadership abilities and instruction in the new Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program and planned future Master's of Social Work (MSW) program. The anticipated position start date is July 1, 2025. Full consideration date for applications is January 01, 2025. The BSW is a four-year online E-campus program requiring the completion of 180 credits. In line with the national accreditor, the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), students in the baccalaureate degree demonstrate 9 competencies through expertise-located assignments and fieldwork assessments of skills. The baccalaureate degree is a generalist program that prepares undergraduate majors with the basic skills, expertise, and dispositions to work within entry-level practice positions such as case manager, child welfare specialist, or probation agent. The BSW degree prepares individuals for generalist practice positions (such as casework), where professionals engage with clients (e.g., individuals, families, communities), assess their needs, link them to services, and monitor their progress. Courses are offered via asynchronous and synchronous delivery, such as Canvas recorded lecture content and instructor-led live Zoom meetings. Field placements will occur in the student's geographic area and will be in-person. The social work programs reside in the Department of Counselor, Adult, and Higher Education at Oregon State University. The mission of the department is to prepare socially just counselors, managers, educators, counselor educators, educational leaders, researchers, and advocates. Key Responsibilities 30% Program Coordination/leadership abilities » Academic unit leader tasks that include oversight and coordination of the social work program. » Core Faculty and Term Hire Support: Manages teaching schedule; Leads term hire quarterly orientations; Leads term hire recruitment and interviewing; Maintenance of syllabi and Canvas shells; supervises and conducts teaching observations. » Collaboration with Department Head: Gives input on departmental strategic planning/implementation, budgeting/financials, enrollment targets. » Admissions and Orientations: Input and consultation regarding recruitment, outreach, and marketing of program, including use of social media; Leads admissions decisions meetings; Leads student orientations. » Program Development: Generates ideas about professional development offerings, including annual training for site managers/alumni; Manages program tasks/projects including handbook revisions; Leads curricular revisions. » Data Management: Works with Director of Assessment to collect and aggregate individual level student assessment data and aggregate program level data for program modification and reporting purposes.
