Primary Purpose of Department The mission of the Athletic Department at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte is to operate within the perspective of the overall educational programs. The Department of Athletic supports the highest ethical standards of the University, the NCAA and Conference USA.

Primary Purpose of Position Provide an environment where student athletes can succeed both academically and athletically in men's tennis.

Summary of Position Responsibilities Provide instruction, training and motivation to prepare student athletes for practices, games, or competitive events. Demonstrate/instruct student athletes on sport performance principles, game strategies, and safety rules. Provide sport program management to the head coach. Evaluate student athlete's strengths and weaknesses as possible recruit or to improve the current student athletes technique to prepare them for competition. Serve as mentor to student athletes with academic and personal issues. Provide functional supervision to temporary student employees.

Minimum Education/practice
   » Bachelor's Degree
   » Has 1-4 years of work practice as an adjunct tennis coach at an NCAA Division I institution (men's team practice preferred)
   » Can show evidence of prosperous scouting and recruiting practice both nationally and Internationally
   » Has practice playing tennis at the NCAA DI level
   » Should be well-traveled and have practiced different cultures
   » Should have in depth expertise of Division I sports (tennis specifically) and the capability to make match management decisions
   » Can communicate effectively with coaches, parents, and players in the United States and worldwide due to the global nature of the tennis program
   » Will work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people
   » Should be detail-oriented and willing to work in a changing environment
   » Should have expertise of and be confident in using Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred Education, expertise, expertise and practice Master's Degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, leadership abilities Studies or related field.
