The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood development and a strong knowledge of developmental milestones. You will work closely with the Lead Developmental Therapist to provide a nurturing, stimulating, and safe environment that fosters each child's growth and learning. Key Job responsibilities: »Support Therapy Sessions: Assist the Lead Developmental Therapist in implementing individualized therapy plans and activities designed to enhance developmental expertise such as motor, cognitive, language, and social-emotional development. »Engage with Children: Foster positive interactions with children, providing encouragement and guidance during activities. Tailor approaches to meet each child's unique needs and developmental stage. »Monitor Progress: Observe and document children's responses to therapy activities, noting any significant changes or areas requiring additional support. Provide feedback to the Lead Therapist for adjustments to therapy plans. »Create a Safe Environment: Ensure the classroom and therapy areas are safe, clean, and well-organized. Adhere to all health and safety regulations and protocols. »Collaborate with Families: Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers, providing updates on their child's progress and covering any concerns or questions they may have. »Assist with Classroom Management: Support day-to-day classroom routines, including transitions, meal times, and nap times. Help manage group dynamics and provide support during both structured and unstructured activities. »Participate in Training: Engage in continuing professional development and training to stay current with best practices in developmental therapy and early childhood education. Work Environment: »Schedule: Part-time (Monday/Wednesday 8:45-3:45). »Physical Requirements: capability to engage in activities requiring physical movement such as sitting on the floor, lifting children, and facilitating play. »Job location: Porter-Leath South Memphis 628 Alice St. Minimum Position Appropriate qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous practice working with young children. Special Conditions: The department is especially interested in candidates that posess: A degree or coursework in early childhood education, special education, child development, or a related field is preferred. practice working with young children with developmental delays or disabilities. CPR and First Aid certification; Or availability to obtain certification upon hiring.
