Posting DetailsPosting InformationPosting Number: FAE1865 Advertised Title: adjunct Professor of Teaching Campus Job location: Main Campus (Memphis, TN) Position Number: L12645 Job Category: Full-Time Faculty Department: College of Engineering Position Summary: adjunct Professor of Teaching, Herff College of Engineering The Herff College of Engineering at the University of Memphis is seeking qualified candidates for an of adjunct Professor of Teaching position. This is a twelve-month, non-tenure track appointment. This is a Limited Position contingent upon funding availcapability. The primary teaching site will be at the Memphis campus, though teaching at off-campus sites will also be required. Responsibilities include effectively delivering instruction in first-year engineering courses, evaluating student learning, fulfilling professional and university service responsibilities, mentoring K-12 students to recruit into the Engineering undergraduate program, advising students about how best to succeed in first-year courses, and complying with School, College, and University regulations. In this position, the faculty will be responsible for teaching live and on-line sections of courses including engineering problem solving, and pre-engineering problem solving. In addition, the position will coordinate other instructors for freshman engineering courses, and recruit and coordinate undergraduate student guides and graduate teaching adjuncts. The position will assist the academic advisor for the college with academic advising during new student orientation and the academic year. The anticipated start date is January 2025. At that time, candidates must have earned a master's degree from an accredited institution either in Engineering or a closely related scientific field. practice in teaching in engineering or a closely related scientific field is desired.
