Additional Position Information: People, purpose, and production will guide this advancement leader. Reporting to the Senior Vice President for Advancement, the Vice President for Philanthropy enhances production that provides both university-wide and divisional-level leadership abilities in growing philanthropic support for the University of Memphis. Serving as part of the Advancement senior leadership abilities team, the Vice President drives development agent performance and builds the donor base for support to gain stakeholder loyalty. Provides strategic leadership abilities and mentorship to their assigned units and collaborates across all areas of Advancement and the University of Memphis. Builds and leads results-focused teams with a leadership abilities style that encourages and promotes an entrepreneurial and innovative spirit among the team. Responsible for growing the donor pipeline that supports the mission of the University of Memphis.

tasks & Job responsibilities: Leads and directs fundraising teams for the institution, coaches development staff, and builds partnerships with campus leaders to increase philanthropic support for the University. Responsible for new program development regarding principal gifts, pipeline growth, and donor success. Utilizes data, systems, and technology to cultivate a robust prospect pool and innovative strategy to nurture sustained fundraising growth. Leads the collection, tracking, and analysis of fundraising performance metrics to reach established goals and presents significant data to stakeholders. Builds organizational commitment to values, culture, and employee engagement. Drives a high-performance culture focused on aspirational goals, results, and constant improvement.

tasks & Job responsibilities: Effectively leads change initiatives through data, culture, strategy development, and structural enhancements. Identifies, develops, and mentors talent within reporting lines and across the organization. Leads, supervises, and directs a leadership abilities team responsible for college/unit-located programs, major gifts, gift planning, prospect strategy and development, and gift and records processing. Travels regularly to visit donors, prospects, and coach development staff. Promotes and leads initiatives with an emphasis on organizational growth and performance. Leads the creation and continuing review of a donor compliance program ensuring the charitable gifts are awardable and impactful and spending is appropriate and prudent.

tasks & Job responsibilities: Develops and coordinates solicitation strategies for key leadership abilities groups as part of a comprehensive campaign. Develops, directs, and ensures the satisfactory, continuing progress of the campaign plan. Provides oversight and management for the campaign budget. Collaborates closely with university leadership abilities, deans, faculty, employees, alumni, friends, organizations, and others to align fundraising targets and plans. Generates comprehensive reports for university leadership abilities and key volunteers. Represents the Division at events, conferences, and meetings to promote fundraising initiatives and establish connections within the philanthropic community.
