As the Broadcast Operations Technician, the individual selected for this function will operate systems and technologies to deliver broadcast and online streaming services. The individual selected will also ensure compliance of media files, broadcast signals and transmission infrastructure. Our ideal Candidate will: Support the playout of linear channels and VOD media processing for continual, 24-hour broadcast and online delivery. Operate equipment and ensure quality for PBS sIX interconnection file delivery, satellite and server records, live broadcast as scheduled. Monitor and adjust video/audio levels, closed captions, program logs, and playout schedule to ensure FCC compliance and operational quality. Make technical or limited program corrections when needed. Prepare and file reports for on-air program log discrepancies. Monitor tower lights and statewide transmitter operations, react to alarms, and alert field transmission staff as needed, to ensure quality and compliance with FCC, FAA, and other guidelines and regulations. Complete DVD duplication requests and FTP transfers of media and stock footage for internal and external requests. Work holidays if they fall during standard work schedule. Demonstrate dedication to diversity in areas of responsibility. As an employee, perform other tasks as assigned to support the mission of the organization. prosperous candidates will have the following minimum qualifications, expertise, and practice: High school diploma or GED. Two (2) years' practice in the operation of broadcast equipment to include: video servers, automation systems, switchers, routing, waveform and vector scopes, and signal frame synchronizers. Working expertise of test signals and FCC rules related to broadcast television. Must maintain a valid driver's license to drive KET vehicles. Working with KET has its benefits!
