Position Summary:: This person directly supervises the everyday operation and ensures that everyday schedules of activity are established and quality standards are maintained for this Holy Grounds location in Drosdick Hall and for the Exchange Operations as needed. They will also assume all of the manager's responsibilities and authority in manager's absence. This person will work with management and co-workers to instill and foster the value of the Villanova Mission Statement and the Dining Services Mission Statement. This person will focus on our Core Values: Safety, Sanitation, and Excellence.

tasks and Job responsibilities::
   » Demonstrates complete knowledge of departmental requirements. Monitors everyday performance of staff, including the quality of products and service, sanitation, and food handling practices, and also ensures compliance with established standards.
   » Accurately inventories the supplies everyday and requisitions items needed to meet par levels. This location will have additional ordering responsibilities.
   » Assists managers with everyday schedules and work assignments. Shifts staff to complete essential tasks when need arises. Coordinates work of staff to promote efficiency of operations.
   » Trains staff, assists with orientation of new associates, recommends actions necessary for staff discipline, terminations, promotions, and provides input to annual performance.
   » Responsible for register procedures, including operating the cash register and running of all reports.
   » Monitors customer needs and responds to any concerns or questions in a friendly and courteous manner.
   » Routinely inspects areas of assigned responsibility and reports all substandard safety and sanitation, security, or equipment conditions to the manager. Consistently monitors standards and makes recommendations for change to managers.
   » Performs other tasks as assigned (daily/weekly cleaning)-special projects.
Minimum Appropriate qualifications::
   » High School diploma required or GED equivalent.
   » 3 years minimum practice in food and/or customer service; combination of post-secondary education/certifications and practice may also be considered.
   » Specific Job Knowledge (e.g., knowledge of principles and procedures related to field and area) Background in food service industry including preparation and production and safety and sanitation
   » Equipment Knowledge
   » General knowledge of kitchen equipment such as: slicers, dish machines,ovens, fryers, mixers, knives, etc
Preferred Appropriate qualifications::
   » ServSafe Certified. (needs to be certified for this function but preferred to have someone already certified)
   » 5 years practice in food and/or customer service with at least 1 years in institutional food service

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours: : Must be able to lift 10 pounds, up to 30 pounds with assistance
Standing and walking for extended periods of time
