As the regions only academic OBGYN department, the primary functions of the department are to teach obstetrics and gynecology to medical students, resident physicians, post graduate students, nurses and other allied health professional, provide evidence-located and comprehensive clinical service to the region, and conduct clinical research featuring our rural mission. Job tasks ECU Brody School of Medicine's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a full-time Nursing adjunct to work in its outpatient Women's Clinic. The Nursing adjunct provides clinical support to the nursing and medical staff within the OB/GYN clinics held at ECU Women's Physicians. This position is responsible for maintaining patient flow, performing patient work-up, assisting health care providers with clinic procedures, and performing basic laboratory tests. In addition, this adjunct may schedule appointments, call prescriptions in to the pharmacy, or perform other clerical tasks as required to support the physician and nursing staff. This position will be utilized to help with the flow of clinic. Information technology will stock rooms, do vital signs, and act as a chaperone. CLINICAL SUPPORT POSITION - NOT SUBJECT TO STATE HUMAN RESOURCES ACT. The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University is a?liated with ECU Health Medical Center, which serves as its teaching hospital, as well as the ?agship hospital for ECU Health. Employment in this position provides eligibility to participate in the UNC Optional Retirement Program (ORP) which offers matching employer contributions and employee control of investment choices, along with eligibility to participate in various Voluntary Supplemental Retirement Plans (401k, 403b. 457). This position is not eligible to participate in the NC Teachers' and State Employees' Retirement System (TSERS).
