Minimum Qualifications. Associate's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Automation/Robotics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering Technology, or closely related field.2. Three years' teaching and/or industry practice. 3. capability to provide effective instruction in the following areas: digital and analog electronics, robotics, instrumentation, automation, computer-aided drafting and design, programmable logic controls, motors and controls, and electrical wiring. 4. Facilitate learner-centered, results-located instruction. 5. availability to provide instruction to curriculum, continuing education, workforce training or other students which may be scheduled as day, evening, weekend, or online options. 6. Develop, maintain, and record student learning results for courses and connected program(s). 7. capability to use technology to deliver instruction. 8. Initiate, develop, and sustain business, education, and industry relationships to foster program growth and to maintain alignment with industry needs. 9. A desire to participate in professional development activities, including those related to the use of critical thinking expertise in instructional design and in student development. 10. Maintain annual budget for program. 11. availability to participate in community service activities. 12. availability to participate in public school and university articulation, advisement, and recruitment programs of the College. 13. Knowledge of the mission and purpose of the NC Community College System. 4. capability to stand, walk or crouch on narrow, slippery, and erratically moving surfaces; stoop, kneel, bend to pick up or move objects, office equipment, and furniture. 5. capability to frequently lift and carry objects weighing 25 pounds and to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. 6. Normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range. 7. capability to work in all types of?weather conditions. 8. capability to work well with others.
Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering Automation/Robotics Engineering, or closely related field.2. Two years' practice teaching one or more of the following areas: digital and analog electronics, robotics, instrumentation, automation, computer-aided drafting and design, programmable logic controls, electrical wiring and machining. 3. practice facilitating online instruction. 4. practice working in an industrial environment with an knowledge of electrical systems, computer controls, mechanical systems and hydraulics and pneumatics in an integrated manufacturing system. 5. PMMI Certifications in Industrial Electricity I and PLC I, OSHA Instructor Certification, National Electrical Contractor's license, Lean Six Sigma, and NCCER Instructor Certification.
Position DescriptionSince producing learning is the primary function of the college, Information technology is the principal responsibility of each instructional staff member to effectively and efficiently stimulate learning in every course. In addition, each instructional staff member should provide guidance to students through their function as an academic advisor and in more informal ways. Each staff member is expected to participate in the governance of the college through committees and divisional meetings, through shared leadership abilities within and across divisions, through personal recommendations to college administrators.» This is a 10-Month position
