Job Summary The Coastal Oregon Marine Experiment Station - Astoria is seeking an Office Manager. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.

COMES-Astoria is a research unit with responsibility for managing and leasing spaces to a variety of tenants in 4 buildings and connected grounds. This position will provide primary administrative and operational support to the Director of COMES-Astoria as well as COMES (Newport and Astoria) faculty in supporting the organization's mission and programs. The incumbent will manage and facilitate both the research unit and facility and tenant administration and operations, as well as manage everyday business office operations, and will organize, prioritize, and implement multiple tasks with overlapping timelines. Tasks may vary and change in scope and complexity over time. In addition, this position will work closely with other administrative adjunct positions within COMES-Newport.

This position is onsite and located in COMES-Astoria at the Seafood Research and Education Center in Astoria, OR.

What You Will Need Bachelor's degree in business, communications or a related field and three years of practice providing advanced administrative support to an administrator, leader, unit or business in a complex office environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and professional office management and managery practice.

Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Demonstrated practice with budgeting, purchasing, accounts payable and receivable, and travel coordination.

Prior managery practice.

Strong written and verbal communication expertise.

Demonstrated capcapability to work in a public contact position and to work cooperatively with a variety of people.

capability to protect sensitive and confidential information.

Demonstrated multi-tasking abilities showing skill at prioritizing work with the capcapability of paying close attention to detail.

capability to work independently, under pressure of deadlines, with frequent interruptions.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must prosperously complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must prosperously complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.

What We Would Like You to Have Demonstrated knowledge of information technology such as computer hardware, software, peripherals, Information technology devices, and software installations/upgrades to complete and/or coordinate those tasks with OSU Information Technology for off campus location.
