Position InformationGeneral InformationVacancy Open to All Candidates Employment Type Permanent - Full-time If time-limited, note appointment end date Hours per week 40 Months per year 12 Position Number 001414 NC income Grade Equivalency GN07 Classification Title Executive adjunct Working Title Executive adjunct income Range $41,702 - $48,334 Anticipate Hiring Range $41,702 - $47,133 FLSA Status Non Exempt Division Academic Affairs Department Col of Arts & Architecture (Col) Work Unit School of Architecture Work Schedule 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; Monday - Friday Primary Purpose of Position The Executive adjunct provides higher level administrative support & office management to the School of Architecture's Director, 25 full time faculty members, 10 PT Faculty and 400 undergraduate and graduate students. Minimum Education/practice Required Minimum Appropriate qualifications: Graduation from high school and three years of progressively responsible administrative/office management practice; or graduation of a two-year secretarial science or business administration program and one year of practice as described above; or graduation from a four-year college or university, preferably with major emphasis on Business administration or a related field; or an equivalent combination of training and practice. University Preferred Appropriate qualifications: Graduation from high school and demonstrated expertise, expertise and abilities gained through four years of progressively responsible administrative/office management practice; or graduation of a two-year secretarial science or business administration program and two years of practice as described above; or graduation from a four-year college or university, preferably with major emphasis on Business administration or a related field and one year of progressively responsible administrative/office management practice; or an equivalent combination of training and practice. Essential Job tasks » Maintains the Director's calendars. » Plans and coordinates various events all over the year. » Assists Director with managing personnel records management for staff and faculty. Other Work Responsibilities » Assists the Director with communications with the faculty, staff, and students of the SoA » Assists the Director with coordination with College of Arts + Architecture administrative, development, and communications staff » Manages in person and online meetings, lectures, colloquies, graduation and other events, including preparing documents and logistics for those meetings » Travel planning, logistics, and approvals for the Director and guests of the SoA Departmental Preferred practice, expertise, Training/Education » Bachelor's degree. » Administrative practice preferably in Higher Education and / or in a creative / design environment » practice supporting executive leadership abilities » practice with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace. » practice with managing websites and social media accounts for a department/organization. » practice with University systems and procurement policies. » Excellent verbal, written, presentation communication expertise. » Excellent interpersonal expertise, including interfacing with public. » capability to work with a team to prioritize, multitask, and adapt within a fast-paced environment. » Strong customer service » capability to maintain strict confidentiality and practice discretion.
