Job Summary/Basic Function: About this function:

Provides academic and practicum instruction within the School of Nursing. Plans, coordinates, and conducts on-campus and online classroom and practicum practices for students. Participates in scholarly and academic activities appropriate to the adjunct Professor rank. Reports to the Director of Undergraduate Nursing Studies, and/or Director of Graduate Nursing Studies, on curriculum and course issues (e.g., students, practicum), and reports to the School of Nursing Chair on all other issues (e.g., personnel, assignments).

What You'll Do - Position Job responsibilities:

1.
Teaches students in the practicum, laboratory and classroom settings.
2. Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of School of Nursing, program, course, and student activities.
3. Displays scholarly orientation to the assumption of the responsibilities of a university faculty member:
   » Utilizes teaching-learning principles appropriately
   » serves as a expertiseable resources person to colleagues, students, and community.
   » Contributes to the generation of research findings in nursing and nursing education.
   » Shares professional skills beyond the local level
4. Participates in program, School of Nursing, college and university committees and in other activities connected with professional status.
5. Incorporates new expertise and techniques in practicum, classroom, and laboratory teaching.
6. Maintains academic standards as established by the School of Nursing, college, and university.
7. Assumes responsibility for the planning and organization of courses to which assigned.
8.Plans professional development activities for self, such as continuing education offerings, workshops, professional meetings, etc.
10. Provides academic advising/counseling to assigned students.
11. Maintains membership in and participates in activities of professional associations.
12. Assists in developing reports required for the operation of the School of Nursing.

Physical Requirements:

Able to lift 25 lbs and be able to execute a variety of physical tasks including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, stair climbing and walking between buildings.
