Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill three part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week during academic terms, up to 40 hours per week during term breaks) Loschl Off-Campus Grounds Maintenance adjunct positions for the Department of FWCS at Oregon State University (OSU).

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis all over the year; candidates will be contacted as positions and projects become available.

The position exists to provide support in managing and maintaining departmental spaces, inventory, and property in Corvallis, on and away from campus, including grounds and buildings that are not serviced by OSU Facilities Services personnel.

Position tasks These employees will be responsible for general unit facilities tasks and off-campus grounds maintenance. Most off-campus activities will be conducted at the Oak Creek Lab of Biology (8840 NW Oak Creek Drive) and Fairplay Facility (3720 NE Hwy 20) in Corvallis.

Primary tasks will involve maintenance of departmental facilities, inventory, and management of off- and on-campus storage spaces, grounds maintenance including operation of hand and power equipment, loading and transfer of materials and equipment, and cleaning of equipment and storage spaces. A valid driver's license and personal vehicle for travel to work at off-campus unit facilities in Corvallis are required. Employees must wear personal protective equipment (eye, ear, and respiratory protection) appropriate to the tasks being completed and as instructed by the manager.

Training will be facilitated by the manager and is required and must be completed prior to conducting some job activities.

   » Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
   » Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment

   » Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
   » Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered ?full-time? by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
