Position Summary:
Under the direction of the VP, Digital Strategy and Innovation, the Director, Digital Grants supervises the planning, execution and management of strategic grants and projects. Develops, executes, manages, evaluates, and monitors the performance of a portfolio of multi-year grant investments/programs in support of the public media system's digital transformation across people, culture, and technology, including digital infrastructure platforms and solutions.
Reviews and evaluates proposals, analyzes budgets, and drafts documents and work scopes in compliance with CPB's established contracting policies and procedures.
Provides leadership abilities, guidance, and skills to CPB, VP and grantees on digital grants at both the strategic and tactical level all over the project lifecycle from concept, design, planning, to grantee/partner relationship management through implementation, launch and post-launch phases in support of grant project and/or program.
Supports the VP, Digital Strategy and Innovation by advising on program investment strategies and opportunities considering current and future media trends and technologies and the impact on the public media system.
Compensation:
The income for this position will be no less than $83,000 and within a hiring income range up to $109,000. Exact income located upon practice, education related to the function, CPB compensation structure and internal equity. Annual income increases and bonus award located on performance against annual objectives and position responsibilities.

Work Location and Hybrid Work Environment:
CPB is conveniently located in downtown NW DC at 401 Ninth St. NW, Washington, DC, amidst easy access to all Metro lines and ample garage parking. We are a largely local workforce and value employee flexibility, when possible. This is a hybrid work position; with in person workdays at CPB's office, along with teleworking, as approved by the position's Department Head.
Specific tasks:
   » Leads the day-to-day operations and management of a portfolio of digital transformation grants including complex digital infrastructure and technology grants through a phased implementation, while partnering with national organizations and third-party consultants.
   » Manages a portfolio of contracts and grants from application and evaluation, tracking deliverables, establishing performance metrics, measuring efficacy, ensuring reporting, and close-out.
   » Assesses the qualitative and quantitative impact of grant projects/programs in relation to project goals and objectives.
   » Works with CPB contracting attorneys to ensure that contracts appropriately reflect the project as approved.
   » Vets and analyzes prospective digital grant proposals considering current and future digital media trends, technologies, business models, and CPB's strategic goals for the public media system, to inform recommendations for investment.
   » Manages effective and collaborative relationships with grantees and potential grantees including continuing communications regarding proposal reviews, project scope and goals, contract compliance and approval of project deliverables.
   » Drafts proposal analysis, reports, memos, business plans, presentations, etc., related to the department projects and investments.
   » Executes and manages Request for Proposal (RFP) processes for projects as needed and performs other tasks as assigned.
   » Maintains knowledge of digital media landscape, digital platforms, and emerging technologies to execute other tasks as assigned.
Required Education and practice:
   » Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and work practice.
   » Minimum 7 years' work practice in a professional level position requiring skills in project or program management, grants administration, budget analysis, and/or in the management of media operations or programming.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
   » practice in grants, or contract administration and/or management, budget development, analysis and/or management and/or business planning and analysis, as well as managing and prioritizing multiple concurrent projects and adhering to deadlines with attention to detail.
   » Knowledge and knowledge of digital platforms to reach audiences/customers and drive revenues.
   » practice developing and managing strategic partner relationships.
   » capability to manage research projects and evaluate and analyze current projects for their effectiveness.
   » Excellent interpersonal communications, writing, and analytical skills with a demonstrated capability to present complex technical ideas in non-technical terms.
   » capability to work independently, collaboratively, and creatively.
   » Strong time management and organizational skills, with the capability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines, while having an attention to detail and quality.
   » Proficiency with MS Office including XL, PPT and reporting tools and some travel required.
Desired Appropriate qualifications:
   » practice managing technology grants as well as vendor projects including work plans, work scopes, budgeting, and contract management, particularly in a not-for-profit environment.
   » practice working in program or project management with digital products and platforms on cross-functional teams with engineering, product management, marketing/sales.
