Knowledge, expertise, and Abilities: Instructional Development: capability to develop instructional materials and affiliated learning aids.
Knowledge of basic instructional development methods and tools. Can explain how newly developed materials and activities meet established learning objectives. Effectively reports instructional development problems. Participates in an organization's instructional development projects.

Communication: capability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs by applying appropriate communication behaviors. Communicates effectively with diverse audiences, using appropriate media and language. Ensures important messages are clearly understood.

Accuracy and Attention to Detail: capability to accurately process a limited amount of detailed information. Utilizes specific approaches and tools for checking and cross-checking outputs. Develops and uses checklists to ensure that information goes out error-free. Accurately gauges the impact and cost of errors, omissions, and oversights. Learns from mistakes and applies lessons learned.

Job tasks

tasks & Job responsibilities: Consult with faculty to help them match instructional strategies and available technologies with their student learning results and objectives. Provide instructional material production services to address learning results. Focus the instructional design process on enhancing student engagement with the course materials, course success, program retention, and timely graduation.

tasks & Job responsibilities: Enhances instructional design procedures, service infrastructure, and tools for partnering with program directors and faculty in designing, developing, and delivering an academic program (major, concentration, or certificate) with integration of appropriate instructional design and technology.

tasks & Job responsibilities: Train faculty and staff using the Quality Matters approach to build online courses for the college. Rebuild all online program content and courses to match the Quality Matters standards.

tasks & Job responsibilities: Works closely with faculty, UM3D, and Information technology support personnel to research innovative approaches for integrating learning theory, emerging technology, and accessibility (e.g., Universal Design for Learning) with academic instruction to address the learning needs of all students, regardless of abilities ordisabilities.

tasks & Job responsibilities: Ensures LCON online learning programs comply with accreditation agencies at the campus, state, regional, and federal levels to enhance quality and legality.

tasks & Job responsibilities: Collaborate with UM3D on using the university's learning management system (Canvas), enterprise technology, policies concerning online instruction, and professional development. Work with UM3D independently to review instructional design (ID) professional literature, network with ID professionals outside the university, facilitate and prepare academic presentations, and participate in activities necessary to stay informed about trends in instructional design.
