Offer: Zero Waste Student Internship:NC State Waste Reduction & Recycling OfficeJob description:Job InformationZero Waste Student InternshipBack to listTitle Zero Waste Student Internship Organization NC State Waste Reduction & Recycling Office Job detail This position is responsible for organizing, coordinating, and managing zero waste programs for campus outreach & education. In the fall, this position heavily supports Pack Athletics, with a special focus on men's football. There will be opportunities to implement Zero Waste efforts at other events. This position starts the week of August 19, 2024. Pay will be $15/hour, benefits are not provided. Work location will vary according to tasks. Office/computer work can be remote; however, other work will be in person on campus, at the Waste Reduction & Recycling office, or at Carter-Finley Stadium. The schedule will depend on what events are going on but this position can expect to work around 5 - 8 hours/week in the fall on non-football weeks, 10 - 20 hours/week in the fall on football weeks, and 5 - 10 hours a week during the spring. Job responsibilities: » Develop and build partnerships with on-campus organizations for education & volunteer recruitment » Organize, coordinate, and manage the recruitment of zero waste volunteers » Provide a short volunteer training and supervise volunteers for each 2023 home football game (Attendance is required for each game) » August 29, (Thursday, TBA) » Sept. 7 (Saturday, TBA), Sept. 14 (Saturday, TBA), Sept. 28 (Saturday, TBA) » Oct. 5 (Saturday, TBA), Oct. 12 (Saturday, TBA) » Nov. 2 (Saturday, TBA), Nov. 9 (Saturday, TBA) » Assist with pre-season preparations including attending Football Orientation for Interns. » Assist with game day preparations in the office and onsite, including bin placements, bagging, loading trucks, inventory checks, etc. » Engage and educate NC State campus, students, & stakeholders regarding zero waste through interactive tabling activities. » Assist in specialized waste reduction projects including bin installation, compost program management, and waste audits. » Collaborate with the Zero Waste Wolves club to develop and implement waste reduction initiatives. » Attend and participate in weekly intern meetings. » Other tasks as assigned.
