Participation in year-round duty rotation. Hours per week 40 FLSA Status Exempt Division Student Affairs Department Housing and Residence Life (Adm) Work Location Housing and Residence Life (HRL) income Range $52,000 - $54,080 Primary Purpose of Department The mission of Housing and Residence Life is to pledge to foster inclusive communities that enhance the academic, social and personal development of residential students. Furthermore, we strive to provide students with a variety of living environments that are clean, safe and affordable. Primary Purpose of Position The Specialist provides departmental leadership abilities for training and continuing staff development coordination for professional, graduate, and student employees. The Specialist coordinates professional and graduate staff orientation, training, and staff development as well as Desk adjunct and Resident Advisor Fall, Spring, and continuing training. The Specialist serves as a consultant and resource to professional staff within the department in the areas of staff training/development. This position will be responsible for working with and assisting the Division of Student Affairs and the Housing and Residence Life Department with gathering research, creating reports, and all assessment efforts related to Residence Life. The Specialist is a member of the Residence Life senior management team and is responsible for providing departmental leadership abilities to students in crisis. The Specialist reports to the Associate Director for Residence Life. Summary of Position Responsibilities Principal responsibilities include the planning of a comprehensive training program for Residence Education Coordinators, Loan Key Operators, Resident Advisors, and Desk adjuncts in consultation with the leadership abilities team, serving as a member of the senior management team; directly supervising a graduate student, crisis management; and other departmental/campus-wide responsibilities. Minimum Education/practice » Bachelor's Degree, » Minimum of one year of full-time housing and training and development practice.
