Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Energy Intern position for the Sustaincapability Office at Oregon State University (OSU).

The OSU Sustaincapability Office seeks a student intern to support energy efficiency and sustaincapability projects, gather energy data and execute related programmatic tasks. The Sustaincapability Office is part of University Facilities, Infrastructure and Operations, the department responsible for development and maintenance of OSU's physical infrastructure.

Position tasks Work schedule can be flexible but must remain responsive to workload. The prosperous candidate can work up to 35 hours per week during summer and 10-15 hours per week during the academic year on the following:
   » Directly perform tasks all over the Corvallis campus that save energy and water
   » Retrieve and review construction documents from the OSU Plan Center and Digital Vault
   » Attend project meetings, review project documents and act as an ambassador for the Sustaincapability Office
   » Improve OSU building efficiency via heating and cooling system optimization
   » Read utility meters once per month as part of OSU's utility billing and conservation efforts (Involves walking and driving all over the Corvallis campus, entering mechanical and electrical rooms, and going up and down multiple flights of stairs)
   » Track performance of and physically upkeep OSU's solar arrays
   » Lead student work groups in service projects, such as landscaped and natural areas cleanups
   » Transport and setup the OSU Solar Trailer (5000 lb. complex device towed by pickup truck)
   » Join colleagues for various Sustaincapability Office outreach events and projects

   » Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
   » Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
   » Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
   » High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
   » Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
   » Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
   » Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
   » Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered ?full-time? by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
