Primary Purpose of Department The Office of OneIT provides highly reliable information technology infrastructure, tools and services to empower the University to achieve its academic, research, administrative and service goals.

Primary Purpose of Position The Director of Academic Technologies (DAT) provides leadership abilities in the application and use of computing technology in support of the College of Engineering's mission.

Summary of Position Responsibilities The Director of Academic Technologies (DAT) guides the development, operation, and vision for the computing resources that support the college's research, teaching, and service objectives. The DAT provides assistance and support to department and college computing initiatives and serves as a source of technical skills for matters related to engineering computing.

Minimum Education/practice
   » Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field from an accredited university required
   » 5 years management practice with higher education practice preferred, part-time or full-time employees
   » Proven record of managing budgets and directing and motivating staff to deliver client-oriented services
Preferred Education, expertise, Skills and practice
   » Higher education practice
   » Management practice in a technical discipline
   » Project Management Professional Certification, Six Sigma, or North Carolina Project Management Certification
