Min Hourly Rate $14.70 (Standard); $13.70 (Non-Urban); $15.95 (Portland Metro) Max Hourly Rate $17.00 (Standard); $16.50 (Non-Urban); $18.00 (Portland Metro) Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Apparel Design Teaching adjunct position for the School of Marketing/Design/Analytics at Oregon State University (OSU). This is a part-time Teaching adjunct (TA) position for the Apparel Design Program. You may help with grading for DSGN 121 - Computer Aided Design. You may also help with producing garments and patterns for the Apparel Design Program to be used in future courses. The pay rate will be $15.70 per hour. Position tasks The TA will help with grading assignments for DSGN 121 in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. You will also create garments of pattern slopers to be used in the Apparel Design courses. You may also develop new pattern slopers, as time allows. Minimum Qualifications Full Employment Eligibility Requirements can be found here: http://fa.oregonstate.edu/stu-manual/500-employment-eligibility-requiremen ts » Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study » Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment » Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard » High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program » Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term » Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term* » Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term » Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term* *International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered ?full-time? by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center. Additional Required Qualifications candidates must have prosperously completed DSGN 226 and DSGN 121 at Oregon State University with a B+ or higher and have junior or senior standing in the Apparel Design Program. They must have expertise of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. They must have strong sewing and construction expertise with the capability to operate Milam 233 sewing machines and related equipment. This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must prosperously complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 2 years. Preferred (Special) Qualifications candidates should be self-motivated and have a desire to expand their apparel design expertise. They should have a computer capable of running Adobe programs and working expertise of sewing machines and construction. Applications may need to show examples of their garment construction capabilities. Working Conditions / Work Schedule Work a minimum 5 hours per week, no more than 10, on grading and constructing garments, as outlined by manager. Work schedule and hours each week will be determined by the applicant. Meet with manager as needed to discuss progress. Applicant will not be required to attend DSGN 121 courses.
