Minimum QualificationsRequirements:Diploma in Welding or related Diploma in Metal Working or Fabrication of Metal Two years of practice in the Welding industry or two years of combined Welding and instructional practice required Must be able to pass Wake Tech's Welding qualification process Computer expertise using basic functions of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook Unofficial transcripts must be uploaded with your application or submitted to Human Resources prior to consideration for interview.
Preferred QualificationsPreferences:Associate's degree in Welding Prior AWS D1.1, ASME IX, or API 1104 Welder Performance Qualification (WPQ) AWS Certified Welding Inspector Certification Five years of practice in the Welding industry or five years of combined Welding and instructional practice required
Position DescriptionThis position is responsible for teachingassigned classes and/or laboratories in day and/or evening according to course documentation.Responsibilities and tasks (*Essential Functions) to execute this job prosperously, an individual must be able to execute the essential job functions satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to execute the primary job functions herein described. * Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner * Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance * Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour * Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment * Grades and returns student work in a timely manner * Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction Maintains regular office hours Stays abreast of most current teaching methods and technology in the classroom Uses assessment techniques to improve student learning results and teaching methods Serves on college or department committees as needed Attends professional development opportunities when possible Assists with establishing goals and objectives for the course, selecting text and constructing a syllabus Maintains communication with instructors from other divisions in order to keep courses up-to-date and appropriate Participates in graduation exercises Qualifications expertise, expertise & Abilities: Able to use a wide variety of teaching methods to promote learning Be innovative, creative, motivated capability to exhibit good interpersonal expertise and work well with others Able to maintain records accurately and be able to meet deadlines consistently Good organizational expertise expertise of and facility with technology and software including, computers and web-located resources such as BlackBoard Able to execute normal tasks with minimal supervision Excellent communication expertise both written and verbal Demonstrates resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential Requirements: Diploma in Welding or related Diploma in Metal Working or Fabrication of Metal Two years of practice in the Welding industry or two years of combined Welding and instructional practice required Must be able to pass Wake Tech's Welding qualification process Computer expertise using basic functions of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook Unofficial transcripts must be uploaded with your application or submitted to Human Resources prior to consideration for interview.
