Posting DetailsPosition InformationPosting Number: 20112900 Position Title: Payroll adjunct FTE: 1.0 Employment type: Staff Department: Payroll Position Summary Information Job Summary/Basic Function: About this function: As part of the payroll team, under the supervision of the Director of Payroll, the Payroll adjunct will aid in the processing and reviewing of the biweekly and monthly payrolls. Responsibilities include analyzing and gathering payroll information needed for the Payroll Specialists to process the payrolls; running scheduled payroll reports for other payroll personnel to use. This person must be able to interpret and understand Texas State and University Payroll Policies and Procedures. What You'll Do - Position Responsibilities » Responsible for assisting Payroll Specialists in the preparation and processing of the biweekly and monthly payrolls | 55% » Responsible for Approving and Applying Electronic Personnel Action Forms | 20% » Responsible for running scheduled payroll reports and create reports as needed | 7% » Responsible for contacting departments in assuring timesheets are approved timely and accurately | 5% » Responsible for maintaining/scanning regular and off-cycle payroll documents according to a retention schedule | 5% » Responsible to answer/route phone calls and emails accordingly | 5% » Responsible for other tasks assigned by Director of Payroll; responsibilities are subject to change located on the needs of the department | 3% Key Competencies: » capability to navigate various software applications » capability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion » General expertise of payroll and related terminology » Strong communication skills » Effective problem solving-skills » Must have high quality of customer service skills Physical Requirements: » Repetitive movement of hands and fingers - typing and/or writing. » Frequent standing, and/or sitting. » Occasional walking, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. » Reach with hands and arms. » Regular physical attendance required. » The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to prosperously perform the essential functions of this job.
